Spine Chilling Revelations about RG KAR MEDICAL COLLEGE shared in an audio recording by a resident doctor of the same college.

I am reproducing below the English translation of an audio recording in Bengali by Shoma Mukherjee, a woman doctor of RG KAR Medical College, talking to her friend Manjula.
It has been translated by Nirupama Dey for Manushi and I reviewed it for accuracy.

I cannot vouch for the authenticity of her account BUT my gut feeling is that her allegations DESERVE SERIOUS ATTENTION.
If her account is true, it offers important clues regarding the identity of the rapists and murderers as well as the role of the principal of the college, Sandeep Ghosh.

I urge the @CBI to look into the charges levelled in this expose by an insider.

"Manjula, This is Shoma Mukherjee. We are having a terrible time staying in the hospital. All the doctors are very disturbed. Today, all OPDs are closed.

I am sharing information about the entire incident, the real incident. The doctors inside the hospital and their friends are talking about these facts, about their friend’s death. What actually happened is really hard to believe.

In each and every medical college in West Bengal, especially the government medical colleges of Kolkatta, all the principals and departmental heads demand and get for money to pass the students.

Those students, interns, and PGTs who don’t study properly and don’t attend the lectures are asked for money if they want to submit their thesis, complete their internship, and pass the final exams. Interns won’t get a registration number if their internship remains incomplete. The faculty demand money by threatening the students.

Worst of all, Dr Sandeep Ghosh, [the recently resignedprincipal of RG Kar Medical College], he presided over a nexus in the college whereby along with some interns and house staff he ran a sex racket and a pharma drug racket.

The latter involved purchasing medicines at a very low rate and selling them at a steep price. Using the tenders worth crores of rupees that were issued for medicines, he used to extort big money from the pharma companies, and a large amount used to go to the party fund.

Sandeep Ghosh was one of the closest to the party (TMC); he is very close to the top level bosses in the party. The nexus he ran decided which intern is allowed to pass the exam and which PGs' theses is allowed to be completed. They actually demanded money for awarding PhDs.

The girl, MD, was a very good student. She was being threatened that the faculty wouldn’t allow her to complete her thesis. She protested against it and warned them about exposing the ugly facts regarding RG Kar Medical College.

She was being bullied for the last six months. She was assigned night shifts for 36 hours non-stop and given extra work load involving heavy pressure. The head of the Chest Department, senior PGTs, and everyone knew about how the principal and his nexus were pressurizing her.

But she was unbeatable. That night, on August 9, 2024, the whole group planned this conspiracy against her. The rape & murder was a pre- planned and a staged game.

Many PGTs and senior doctors used to rest in the seminar room earlier, but that night she was asked to sleep alone in that seminar room. Some students spread a rumour that the room was under construction and no one should go there.

Before the incident, four fellow students had dinner with her in the seminar room. One of the four was a girl. I don’t understand, what sort of woman she is. How can a doctor act so horrific?

I can’t say whether the girl who had dinner with M is a doctor or an intern, but she also has a boyfriend who is an intern. She had a big argument with M and threatened her again that night. After that M was asked to sleep alone in the seminar room.

Then a group of about seven went down and consumed alcohol. You know, first they held her hands tightly and tortured and raped her. This incident was also accompanied and helped by the female intern.

Two of them held her legs and separated them like Jarasandha, causing her pelvic bones to break. They even broke her collar bone.

It was an act full of violence, cruelty, and brutality. She was laid upside down, and the fellow interns walked over her wearing shoes. Her head was crushed in such a way that she suffered a skull rupture.

After all this, she was choked to death.

After murdering her, they didn’t even care to treat her dead body with decency. When they descended the stairs, they discovered Sanjay sitting there, sipping alcohol along with other Group-D employees. They used to call him ‘Tarkata Sanjay’ and ‘Phal-Gai’ because he was a addicted to prostitution and had an obsession with women.

In order to manipulate the course of events, they egged on Sanjay to rape her, saying,"'Go to the seminar room, there’s a girl for you there."
He raped the dead body so that traces of his semen could also be found in her vagina.

So, this is the whole case. I named every one of them.
All the names of doctors which I sent are involved in this rape and murder.

In order to destroy the evidence, the doctors and interns even broke the wall and the washroom where they washed their hands after murdering her. Now they are saying they will construct a new room there. You must have seen it yesterday in the news.

I don’t want to say anything more. You all are protesting. I am also trying my best, but nothing will happen.

Nothing is going to happen in this country. The pain within us will keep growing, we will feel more and more suffocated, but we will not be able to do anything.

I do not understand how the next generation of doctors will treat us. How can we keep our future generations safe?" [END]
