@Orioles Love seeing @MaverickHandley get a shot! Apart from being a great catcher, he is just the nicest guy. I've taken my son to see the Tides play the Sounds in Nashville each of the last 2 years. Mav has made time both games to speak with my son. Great guy! Cheering from Nashville!
@ryanripkenshow I know what the holes are -- and he's not going to take the mound -- but honestly, from a jolt-of-hope-and-resilience standpoint, making a deal to bring Trey back into this mix might be one of those "it" factor moves that works a little Orioles Magic back into the fold.
There are some players you just love rooting for a little bit more than all the others. Matusz was one of those for me. This is heartbreaking. Praying for his family and friends.
Our hearts are heavy tonight as we mourn the passing of former Oriole, Brian Matusz.
A staple in our clubhouse from 2009-2016, Brian was beloved throughout Birdland, and his passion for baseball and our community was unmatched. He dedicated his time to connecting with any fan he could, was a cherished teammate, and always had a smile on his face.
Brianโs family and loved ones are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
I would go to war every single day for James McCann. But after seeing that, I am convinced that I would absolutely useless to him. Thatโs the toughest SOB Iโve ever met. And he just proved it right there ๐ซก
