How to “get lucky”…
Stay in the game. Be kind. Service to others. Be humble. Recognize opportunities. Be respectful. Work hard.
Eventually “luck” will find you.
I’ve read all of these at least twice, some of them 3 to 5 times… As well as owning and having read through all five of the kids books with my son… Am I OK? 🤣 #notsponsored#extremeownership#bookcollection
What an absolutely incredible read… building on the premise of Extreme Ownership, @davidrberke gives insight into the solution to EVERY problem: leadership
Culture is the ultimate form of Decentralized Command.
Culture drives the standards of performance, which build trust, improve communication, and streamline execution.
I’ve read Extreme Ownership 5 times, Dichotomy of Leadership once, and I’m 100 pages into The Need to Lead. These books have changed the way I operate everywhere: home, work, at grocery store, church, troop. You’re a leader, and need to read these books… still learning lessons!
When setting expectations, no matter what has been said or written, if substandard performance is accepted and no one is held accountable—if there are no consequences—that poor performance becomes the new standard.
@EchelonFront Fatherhood win- LSS: my son responded up the stairs with a loud “WHAT?” and I didn’t flip out. I had a conversation about why I believe that’s disrespectful and gave him some better options. He didn’t say it rudely and we’ve never talked about it before (he’s almost 9)
Extreme Ownership requires leaders to look at an organization’s problems through the objective lens of reality, without emotional attachments to agendas or plans.
99% of every problem in your life is either:
- A decision you made.
- A decision you are avoiding.
- A boundary you won’t set.
- A boundary you won’t enforce.
That’s it.
@LeifBabin@readswithravi@jockowillink@EchelonFront I’ve read through it multiple times and with multiple people… used it as a discipleship tool at church as well… also, I’m totally NOT fan-girling over here that you responded! 😅😅😅
