अज़ीम प्रेमजी यूनिवर्सिटी (2026) के अनुसार, 25 साल से कम उम्र के लगभग 40% ग्रेजुएट बेरोज़गार हैं, और 7% से भी कम पुरुष ग्रेजुएट को एक साल के भीतर पक्की नौकरी मिलती है।

भारत में 15-29 साल के 36.7 करोड़ युवाओं में से, पढ़े-लिखे युवा कुल बेरोज़गार आबादी का लगभग दो-तिहाई हिस्सा हैं।

हर 100 ग्रेजुएट में से सिर्फ़ 50 को काम मिलता है; 15 नौकरी की तलाश में रहते हैं, और 35 पूरी तरह से लेबर मार्केट (काम-काज के दायरे) से बाहर हो जाते हैं। काम पाने वाले उन 50 लोगों में से भी, सिर्फ़ 26 के पास रेगुलर नौकरी है और केवल 4 के पास फ़ॉर्मल रोज़गार है, जबकि 24 अस्थायी या असुरक्षित काम में लगे हैं। दूसरे शब्दों में, उन 50 में से 46 लोग बिना पूरी नौकरी की सुरक्षा के काम कर रहे हैं।
