Bail out of Britain and Labour will still try and grab your pension cash.

British expats with UK-registered pension schemes will be subject to 40% UK Inheritance Tax (IHT) on those schemes.

Even if you are a non-UK resident or have successfully shed your UK tax status, a UK pension (such as a SIPP) is legally classified as a UK-situs asset and subject to IHT.

Expats are switching to a strategy of spending down their pensions. Labour's pension tax attack is a particularly nasty piece of viciousness.

Perhaps the most disturbing element in the fantasy world of (ex)-Professor Jason Arday is not his proclivity to embellish his achievements (or lack thereof) in absurd ways that were easily exposed or Cambridge University’s facile complicity in his whole scam but that a reporter at Times Higher Education, who was looking into anomalies in Mr Arday’s dodgy CV, was subjected to a four-month police investigation for allegedly harassing him. The police need to be held to account for this abuse of police power to thwart a journalist from doing his job.

Yet another independent school has just closed down.

One of the oldest independent nursery and prep schools in West Sussex, Sompting Abbotts, has announced its sudden closure during the summer holidays. Staff are now desperately looking for jobs in September.

Its principal cited the introduction of VAT on school fees and the "general economic climate" among reasons for the closure.

Cambridge University is one of the best universities in the world. I, for one, am grateful for the teaching I received there and want it to continue to thrive.

But its reputation for academic rigour, excellence and research has been seriously damaged by this.

It is right that this Professor has resigned, but I fear that this is unlikely to be the last case of woke hiring gone wrong in academia.
