Please take a look at my presentation which focuses on health disparities in the Indigenous community due to social determinants
@vxxxks Just found out that Indian hospitals in Canada forcibly held Indigenous patients, performed medical experiments without consent, and denied basic care.
Truly were tools of colonial violence #IndigenousHealth#SDOH#TruthAndReconciliation
Check this out https://t.co/LSVnBhPq0e It explores the challenges and resources available, comparing them to the U.S. system and mentions the impact of social determinants of health.
Australia's approach to improving Indigenous health through culturally safe services, community led initiatives, and the Closing the Gap framework can serve as a model for Canada. #IndigenousHealth#GlobalPerspective

It's true, the results of the study clearly highlight the ineffectiveness of standard maternity care models to reduce the over-representation of Indigenous newborn removals and demonstrate the need for Indigenous-led service design and delivery. #indigenoushealth#maternalcare

@jason_coppaway Hey @jason_coppaway, how do you think systemic issues like housing insecurity, lack of clean water, and underfunded healthcare contribute to health disparities in Indigenous communities? What solutions do you see as most urgent? #IndigenousHealth#HealthEquity

To doctors, please listen to your patient. Respect their expertise in their bodies. Let them be active participants in their care.
If they don’t want a specific treatment, ask them why. You might learn something.
Work together, and we will all have better outcomes /end
