Dissenting analyses on how empire weaponize capital and identity to fragment societies, with a focus on Palestine.
Coordinator at @filistinwahida @odsinitiative
Anti-zionist.
The problem with Israel is not just what it does in terms of occupation, apartheid, ethnic razing and genocide, but what it is—a settler colony. Freedom for Palestine means dismantling the settler state and establishing its antithesis: One democratic Palestinian state, for all of its citizens.
Anti-capitalist.
Because capitalism allows for the accumulation of extreme wealth in the hands of a few individuals and corporations, it allows them to monopolize the market, the media, clientelist networks and organizational capacity—in other words, to monopolize political decision-making. Dismantling capitalism is not an ideological preference, it is a democratic need.
Anti-colonialist.
Colonization is a centuries-old, worldwide political project that is capitalist at its core and that weaponizes identities. As such, it not only fragments societies it targets but also those it originates from—and in cases of settler colonialism, even those it strives to create. Decolonization is thus the way to freedom and justice, both between and beyond the river and the sea.
Dissenting analyses.
The analyses presented here differ from typical academic or theoretical analyses. They take into consideration how humans tend to behave (individually and societally) in response to political programs, and focus on building our capacity for well-thought-out organized political action.

As such, it is much appreciated.
Over the past two years, millions have voiced their solidarity with Palestine, many of whom had never done so before. This support has helped Palestinians, especially those going through genocide in Gaza, feel that they are not alone. However, it has not stopped the genocide, nor does it seem capable of standing up to the U.S. administration’s so-called “peace plan.” There are a number of reasons for this, one of the key ones being the shortcomings of the concept of solidarity with Palestine itself.

"All successful liberation movements in history had a clear vision of what constituted liberation. The Vietnamese National Liberation Front set the objective of driving the US army out of their land and establishing one socialist state. The French resistance was not content with driving the German army out but aimed to dismantle the Nazi state. The African National Congress centered its efforts on dismantling apartheid while allowing white South Africans to remain. The Algerian National Liberation Front set out conditions under which French settlers would be allowed to remain after liberation.
One thing they all had in common: A single state over all of the land, through which society itself—not foreign forces—could determine its future."

This is not just a lame joke, an old man’s stupidity or even a stroke of racism.
This is age-old colonialism.
A political dynamic that started hundreds of years ago and never stopped since.
The same dynamic that ethnically razed the indigenous in what it called America and Australia, enslaved Africa, colonized Asia including by establishing a settler state in Palestine, and lately committed genocide in Gaza.
Trump is just being more overt about what Biden, Obama, Bush and others before have been doing for centuries.
A comment by the One Democratic State Initiative:
Yaalon is, of course, fundamentally wrong.
The Nazi party did not become supremacist and fascist when it started large-scale killings. Nor did it become supremacist and fascist when it started small-scale killings. Nazism was already supremacist and fascist the moment it was born. Similarly, Zionism did not become supremacist and fascist during the recent genocide. Nor did it become supremacist and fascist during the Nakba. Zionism was already supremacist and fascist the moment it proned the settler colonization of a land in order to establish a Jewish state.
When the settler Yaalon says Zionism is "becoming Jewish supremacism" and "adopting the policies of Judeo-Nazism", when he limits his accusation to the current government rather than encompass the whole state and system of domination, he is denying the colony's nature as a settler entity. As a matter of fact, the settler Yaalon does not hide his motivation. He speaks of Israelis' need to "remain human", to thwart the danger "over our [Israelis'] future and our existence" and to "not bring ruin over our [Israelis'] state". The settler is not trying to save Palestinians. He is trying to save the colony.
Although we can make use of such comments in our narrative warfare against the colony, we must be aware that not all who accuse the colony of ethnic razing, fascism or supremacy are allies—Some are fierce Zionists. Ultimately, what determines one's position regarding the Palestinian liberation struggle is whether they side with the continued existence of the Jewish state, or its dismantling in favor of a democratic Palestinian state.

The recent weeks, just like the recent years, have been momentous, as the US administration abducted Venezuelan president Maduro, declared its intention to annex Greenland, and threatened to attack Iran then appeared to back off. What are some key takeaways that can help us grasp what is happening, and affect what the US administration is planning?
First, it’s not just about Trump. Although much of the attention has been centered on him and his unusual personality, one person seldom affects the political scene. Just like in any other state or administration, political scene is shaped by the balance of power imposed by capital and organized groups such as the media, lobbies or syndicates. Trump can manoeuvre, and choose certain groups’ interests over others, but only within these overall constraints. Focusing on his person can shift away the attention from the capitalist and colonial system that enabled his ascent to power and the major actors that are interested in —or even behind— the kind of decisions the US administration is taking.

“The world order we live in operates by this basic imperialist law: Global powers can do whatever they want, as long as the other global powers are OK with it. It was set up, not to protect weak societies from global powers, but to protect global powers from each other—to institute the negotiations between them, making sure the horrors they committed to each other in the so-called world wars only happen to others.
Accordingly, when Europe complains about Trump reshaping the world order, they are not referring to a global order of peace and justice, but to an order that allowed them to share hegemony with the US. This is the order they are attempting to save by sending troops to Greenland. And this is the order that the US administration is disrupting, and might even destroy.
This antagonism with Europe is one we in the global Left should study and make the best of in our struggle for a world order that is actually just.”

We need to stop criticizing the colony. Criticizing is what we do to allies or opponents. Criticizing the colony normalizes it.
We must move from criticizing the colony to organizing behind a clear program to dismantle it & establish its complete opposite: One Democratic State.
Every time those in power move to silence Israel's critics, we must triple our criticism of Israel.
Every time they try to shut down pro-Palestine protests, we must triple our participation in the protests.
We need to make sure their efforts to silence us guarantees them MORE of the thing they're trying to get rid of, not less.
Impose direct costs on their tyrannical behavior and show them with our actions that every effort to silence us only makes things worse for them.
And that's as it should be. They're coming after our rights now. If you attack the civil rights of the citizenry, the citizenry are going to fight you right back.
You don't get to push without getting pushback. You don't get to try to take away my rights and then just coast along like it's no big deal. You get back what you give, thrice over.

@GlobeEyeNews When Canada and Europe condemns the US's “new colonialism”, they just want to keep current colonialism—The one where they still have a slice of the pie.

@NYCMayor The colony is genociding Palestinians and putting Jewish lives worldwide in danger by doing so in the name of Judaism.
Time to dismantle the colony and replace it with its exact opposite—One Democratic State, from the river to the sea.
