Equipping church leaders to translate Scripture so that churches are established & strengthened. #PastorTranslators | #BibleTranslation for the church | 2Th 3.1
The Psalter should be translated earlier in #BibleTranslation projects.
God’s people are commanded & privileged to sing to & pray with one another in corporate worship & God the Spirit has provided a whole book of inspired prayer-songs.

“not all forms of discourse can be converted from one medium to another. It is naive to suppose that something that has been expressed in one form can be expressed in another without significantly changing its meaning, texture or value”
-N.Postman, “Amusing Ourselves to Death”
Dear Pastor,
Please pray in corporate gatherings for more laborers & for the progress of God’s Word, that it would be translated & used in the life & ministries of local churches among every tribe, language & people.

Yes, I’m very optimistic about Christianity in Africa. The internet has broken a barrier and is enabling many young people to discover the truth. They are seeking out sound churches and are being prepared for a lifetime of service for Christ. This is exciting stuff!
Great to have a @pray4bt table at #BTC24! If you can’t walk up to this table right now, and want to learn more about how Bible translation is part of the mission of the church, check out: https://t.co/XfSFM3tf0c
Praying for #BTC2024 & for @SteveMeisterVDM as he teaches.
If you’re there, stop by the Bible Translation Fellowship table to learn more & grab some bookmarks & stickers to encourage your praying for BT.
And may the Lord raise up more laborers (Matt 9.38)
“Paul’s letters were surprisingly expensive to us, but actually the reason is that his letters were uncommonly long.” Randy Richards estimates that Romans would’ve (conservatively!) cost over $2000 to prepare and send in todays dollars. https://t.co/M8iJ2fiCrV
Dear Pastor,
This is an important issue going on in modern missions and #bibletranslation. I’m grateful for @AaronMShryock writing this post & for his ministry. In 2023 I wrote 140 pgs (for my Theology of BT) on this topic & just saw Aaron’s post this week. Thanks brother!
More and more Bible translators are doing less and less Bible translation. Here's what you should know...

“What he hears, he understands; what he understands, he remembers; what he remembers, he loves; what he loves, he believes; and what he believes, he practices. His life is a continual sermon.”
-W. McEwen, “Delighting in God and All His Ways” (p211)
“In WBT-SIL, theology ranked well behind linguistics in scholarly importance, as is evidenced by the dearth of seminarians and theologians in the organization.”
-Aldridge, “For the Gospel’s Sake: The Rise of the Wycliffe Bible Translators and the Summer Institute of Linguistics”
It is the duty of Christians to praise God publickly, by singing of psalms together in the congregation…But…where many…cannot read, it is convenient that the minister, or some other fit person appointed…do read the psalm…before the singing
