Wars don’t prove who is right, but only who is left behind

During the World Day of Prayer and Action for Children 2023 in Mumbai, children gathered in prayer and dialogue, raising their voices for peace. With honesty and courage, they reminded us that ‘wars don’t prove who is right, but only who is left behind.’ Their heartfelt appeal was a call to leaders everywhere: to protect children, end violence, and build a world of peace.

At the #GNRCSixthForum, we promised to work with children and build a more hopeful world for them. That promise was reaffirmed in the Abu Dhabi Declaration on Building a Hopeful World for Children, where we pledged to strengthen families and teachers, protect children both offline and online, support their mental and spiritual wellbeing, and create safe spaces where they can be heard. We also committed to promoting dialogue across religions, cultures, and generations to eliminate harmful norms and build resilient communities.

We welcome the voices of children with gratitude, celebrate their courage, and renew our commitment to walk alongside them by building together a safe, secure, and sustainable world where every child can thrive.

We are encouraged to see @ArigatouGNRC members across different countries actively living out this commitment through interfaith dialogue, peacebuilding, education, and grassroots initiatives in their communities, demonstrating that real change for children begins with action.
