We need to address a few things.
Firstly, the equivalent of Ramadan is the Christian Lent season. Not “Christmas break”. Muslims fast annually during Ramadan and Christians also fast annually during Lent season- not during Christmas. Let’s make that clear first of all.

So comparing Ramadan to an imaginary “Christmas break” is a very unintelligent, uninformed and a deliberately dishonest comparison. You know what you are doing because you hope the audience reading will be foolish enough to not see how disingenuous such a silly comparison is.

Now to even the “Christmas break”,
There is NO such thing as a “Christmas break”. It is a misnomer when you critically look at it. IT DOES NOT EXIST.

What you refer to is actually “end of the year” holiday season, usually the last 3weeks of December and the 1st week of January. That is NOT a Christian holiday. That period is the end of the academic year for schools and end of the work year for banks/companies.

The Christian holiday is ONLY on Dec25. It is only One day, the end. NOT MORE.

Though the period is popularly called “Christmas holiday”, there is ONLY one day that is a Christian holiday in that entire 3-4weeks period. There are many other days in that period that are not Christian holidays.

Boxing Day is NOT a Christian holiday.
New Year Eve is NOT a Christian holiday.
New Year Day is NOT a Christian holiday.
Dettydecember is NOT a Christian practice. Obleeee celebrations is NOT a Christian practice. ALL of the above events happen in that same period but they have absolutely nothing to do with Christianity. So the appropriate terminology for that period is “end of year holidays”.

These events are all “end of the year” holidays, some which are mandated by the government for schools, companies and businesses to take stock for the year ending and plan for the new incoming year.

So I hope this explanation fully debunks this nonsense narrative of “govt shuts down schools during Christmas holidays so it’s okay to shut down schools during Ramadan”. As I said earlier, that’s a totally unintelligent comparison to make.

Now furthermore,
The Christian equivalent of Ramadan is the Christian LENT. Not “Christmas break”. Let’s make that very clear. The Christian Lent season is the period that Christians fast for 40days. Just like Ramadan, the Christian Lent is an annual event - and this year’s Lent starts on March5.

However unlike the illogical, irrational, and intolerant, extremist states in the north who close schools;

when Christians observe Lent, Christian-majority states do NOT close down schools, utilise violence, or employ the use of a deranged religious police unit to shut down all the schools of the state- simply because some people want to fast EVEN IF those people are the majority. This is the issue.

And the southern states, many of who are Christian majority states, understand this because, unlike the extremist, hateful, intolerant, bigoted and hostile states in the north, those southern states are fully aware that the definition of religious oppression is enforcing your own religion on the entirety of a state without consideration for the minority who may not be adherents of that religion. Again, this is the issue.

The state government in a state is using state power to enforce religious rules on an entire state even though there are many people who don’t adhere to that religion or who don’t even practice any religion at all. This is the issue. And yes, the Christian association of Nigeria is well within its rights to speak up as the spokesperson for the oppressed Christians whose children have been forcefully thrown out of schools by a hateful hostile intolerant state government. Again, this is the issue.

I’m sure you and your likes know this.
But religious extremist ideologies blinds and emboldens you to tacitly defend the oppression of others, hateful treatment of religious minorities and bigoted domination of those who don’t practice the religion of the majority.
