Last week, Marco and Michal chaired a symposium entitled "The role of non-crop habitats to support arthropod diversity and ecosystem services in agricultural landscapes" at the @ECCB_2024 organized by the Global Predation Assessment Team
Testing a new brand of plasticine at the green roofs of @fzpczu with Michal. Next week the whole team will meet again at the GfÖ annual meeting in Leipzig
Just finished collecting data for the @predation_rates project - here are some photos from the field and lab of creatures (or evidence of them) trying to eat clay caterpillars!!
More news from the traveling caterpillars! @fboetzl is probably in the field right now, collecting the caterpillars that were exposed on Tuesday in Sweden 🇸🇪
The Global Assessment of Predation Rates project has started! Led by Marco Ferrante (@FuncAgroEco), Michal Knapp (@fzpczu) and @Dr_Eze_Gonzalez (@IMBIVCONICETUNC), it aims to assess predation in maize fields and neighboring non-crop habitats across the world using sentinel prey🐛
@FuncAgroEco @fzpczu@Dr_Eze_Gonzalez@IMBIVCONICETUNC We will do this with the help of many colleagues participating in their study sites in several countries to test if the latitudinal predation gradient holds in human-modified environments. Michal already sent the first set of packages with caterpillars after a lot of work
