2022: SC rejects plea to revisit 1863 Religious Endowments Act. SC says the Act sets up temples to cater to "larger needs of society."

2023: TN govt using Rs 6.4 crs of Arunachaleswarar temple funds to set up shops in its precinct.

Will SC kindly ask what "larger need of society" is being served by building shops?
