We pushed out a quick update today to resolve an issue a warehouse was having. Amounts for services and charges were not being displayed in the portal.
It turns out the currency service that we use was temporarily down, so to avoid these issues in the future, we: (1/3)
- Don't even check the currency service if the currencies match (not sure why we weren't doing this before!)
- Show the amount in the original currency if we can't get the conversion rate
- Add a secondary currency service to attempt if the first one is down (2/3)
- Print box labels before the shipment is purchased (previously only available for 2D barcode labels)
- Default dimensions are stored in your browser storage, so you don't have to re-enter them every time you load the box contents page.
We've made some changes to the way that box contents are managed on a shipment. While the interface is familiar, we have cleaned up some of the design elements as well as added the ability to (see thread):
Today we're streamlining the process of rejecting/accepting shipping plans. Once you reject all the plans, it's one click to get a new set. Really fast and easy.
From there, the workflows diverge into the old one with shipping plans and transport details, and the new one which we will be talking more about over the next couple weeks.
Last week, Amazon announced a new version of their FBA shipments API. We're putting out some sneak peaks as we implement.
