Commisisons now open! See the thread! (Twitter only lets you post ONE image at a time now??! I know I've seen others post more...WTF Twitter...) #art#commissionsopen
@Liokumaa Plenty of artists with "high prices" do indeed make money from their work, yes. It depends on a number of X factors, but it's always possible.
@GaelRice It's becoming more difficult to be an artist, period, as well as a paradox- generally, it's easier than ever in history, but at the same time, the odds are increasingly stacked against us, with AI being pushed, and platforms no longer working in one's favor.
@noireval Depending on the person of course, it's not always so much they don't want artists to be able to live off their art, it's that they're just apathetic either way. When it's something they don't like, then people tend to be in favor of said artist/s being erased from existence.
@HidaReadsComics It certainly feels this way. The days of private web sites being seen appear to be over, drowned in the flood of social media and algorithms that no longer work in their favor. I sincerely do not know what the solution to this is.
@_pixel_png It's becoming increasingly more difficult to find a platform where you can do that anymore. While I see it all the time here, a lot of people also end up getting banned or shadow banned for it. It's completely inconsistent.
@BigBork_Spirit A lot of artists ask for payment upfront to help prevent scammers who end up with free art. I think that's fair. I do agree with you though that the artist should keep in contact with the client about progress. Ask for this upfront, too. If the artist refuses, no dice.
@TheArtYoshi It's happening everywhere. Algorithms just do not work in most creators' favor anymore, assuming they ever did, and especially small-time creators. Hashtags are also essentially useless. It's only going to get worse. I have no real solutions for this.
@sylessae I think it might be due to a drive to create something. When they actually try and get to work, they find they do not actually enjoy the process. I think a lot of filmmakers are like this, too- they love movies and want to see their vision realized, but just despise the steps.
@rodimusprimal I think that would be interesting, but no one wants to do it. I suppose because Optimus is the face of TF for one thing, and if Rodimus takes over, then Optimus has to either die AGAIN, or give up. Which he would not do but some comic series made him do anyway apparently. Dumb.
@ZanizaniTsu Why, yes, yes it is. But the processors do not care. It's like they're full of shit or something. 🤔
In all honesty, the reason for this gross hypocrisy is unknown.
