The songs from SOR, as well as all my other MD/Gen tracks, are written in MML (Music Macro Language), a music programming language. I believe this language came about because older computers didn't have graphical interfaces and were limited in memory. But there's a clear advantage: you can jot down your song ideas anytime, anywhere, as long as you have something to write with. If you want, you can even write the song with your fingers on a sandy beach or on the surface of velour chairs.

I've even scribbled code on a snowbank once 😆
