PTI Strongly Condemns the Heinous Kidnapping, Gang Rape, Extortion and Brutal Torture of Foreign Women in Lahore; Directly Implicates Grandson of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Demands His Immediate Resignation for a Transparent, Impartial Investigation Free from Elite Interference

Islamabad, July 5, 2026:

Sheikh Waqas Akram, Secretary Information of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has issued the following statement:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf expresses its profound shock, grief and strongest condemnation of the horrific kidnapping, blackmail, extortion and barbaric sexual and physical torture inflicted upon two foreign women, nationals of the Netherlands and Venezuela, in Lahore. This shameful and heart-wrenching scandal has directly named Reza Dar, grandson of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, as a prime accused in the First Information Report (FIR).

What began as a criminal case has escalated into a grave matter of national and international consequence, seriously damaging Pakistan’s global image, diplomatic credibility and national honour. PTI rejects any political cover-up, attempts to intimidate the judiciary or tactics to shield members of the elite.

The serious allegations in the FIR, supported by the victims’ statements before the court, demand a completely transparent, thorough, independent and uncompromising investigation without interference. The probe following the recording of statements under Section 164 CrPC must be fully independent, free from political, administrative or elite influence, and conducted with absolute transparency. Disturbing reports have emerged of the misuse of state power to protect the accused from the outset. Allegations that police forcibly raided a Judicial Magistrate’s residence to pressure him represent a shocking example of elite interference in the judicial process.

The disclosures by senior police officials have clarified the timeline and depraved nature of this heinous crime. However, critical aspects remain unclear, including the identity of the mysterious “boss” named in the FIR as the orchestrator. Why is this individual still shielded? Until he is identified and brought before the law, the real forces behind the scandal will remain unaddressed.

PTI also questions the credibility of the investigation after the sudden departure of the foreign victims to their home countries. Were these traumatised women repatriated of their own free will, or was there a design to remove the primary complainants and suppress the case? Without their presence and testimony, how can meaningful convictions and justice be secured?

This scandal has brought international disgrace upon Pakistan. The country cannot afford any cover-up or protection of the powerful. To ensure an impartial, independent and fearless investigation free from political influence, Sheikh Waqas Akram demands the immediate resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

If Ishaq Dar has any regard for Pakistan’s international standing, honour and dignity, he must step down immediately. As long as a powerful member of the accused’s family occupies one of the country’s highest offices, a transparent and credible inquiry remains inconceivable.

PTI makes it clear that Pakistan’s honour and justice for these oppressed women must take precedence over the protection of ruling families.

Sheikh Waqas Akram demands strict criminal proceedings against all named accused and their patrons or facilitators. PTI will continue to raise its voice until the case reaches its logical and just conclusion.

میرا مطالبہ ہے کہ ڈی آئی جی آپریشنز اور ڈی آئی جی انویسٹیگیشن کو فوری طور پر ان کے عہدوں سے ہٹایا جائے، کیونکہ ان کی موجودگی میں اس سنگین جرم کی شفاف، غیرجانبدار اور مؤثر تحقیقات ممکن نہیں۔
اگر آپ واقعی اس شرمناک اور گھناؤنے جرم کی پشت پناہی نہیں کر رہیں، تو انصاف کا تقاضا یہی ہے کہ اپنے اس مشیر کو، جو ملزمان کا ماموں ہے، فوری طور پر عہدے سے برطرف کریں۔

اس مقدمے کی آزادانہ تحقیقات کے لیے ایک مشترکہ تحقیقاتی ٹیم (جے آئی ٹی) تشکیل دی جائے، جس میں صرف پولیس ہی نہیں بلکہ انٹیلیجنس بیورو (آئی بی)، فیڈرل انویسٹیگیشن ایجنسی (ایف آئی اے)، انٹر سروسز انٹیلیجنس (آئی ایس آئی) اور ملٹری انٹیلیجنس (ایم آئی) کے نمائندے بھی شامل ہوں، تاکہ تحقیقات ہر قسم کے دباؤ اور اثر و رسوخ سے آزاد ہو سکیں۔

اگرچہ موجودہ حالات میں آپ سے زیادہ توقعات وابستہ نہیں، لیکن شاید ایک آزاد اور بااختیار تحقیقاتی کمیٹی ہی ان متاثرہ خواتین کو انصاف دلانے کا ذریعہ بن سکے۔
