Tonight I found the tiniest little baby squirrel in the middle of the road. 🐿️❤️ It was raining, and there weren’t even any trees nearby. I couldn’t just drive past him, so I stopped the car and got out to see if I could help. The sweetest part was that when I got close, he actually started coming toward me. I carefully picked him up and brought him home.

He looks to be only about 4–6 weeks old, and he is absolutely tiny. I immediately reached out to my friend who rescues squirrels, and thankfully, she’s going to take care of him tomorrow. She thinks he’s probably dehydrated, so for tonight I’m keeping him safe and following her instructions until she can take him. Just look at that little face.

I honestly don’t know how it happens, but animals always seem to find me when they need help—or somehow, I find them. Maybe it’s just one of those things about me. I can’t seem to drive past an animal in need, especially when it’s a tiny baby sitting alone in the middle of a rainy road.

I’m just grateful I happened to be there tonight. This little guy could have easily been missed, but instead he’s safe, warm and being cared for until he gets the help he needs. Sometimes the smallest rescues end up meaning the most.
