GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN TOMORROW? MARKETS SAY 86%

Prediction markets are flashing red, with an 86% chance of a U.S. government shutdown as funding expires at midnight Friday.

The good news: if Congress passes a spending bill by Monday, the shutdown could be over in a day. Since it starts over the weekend, most federal offices are already closed, and essential workers would stay on the job. Early action Monday could even prevent furloughs.

While far less disruptive than last year’s 43-day shutdown, even a brief lapse could delay key economic data like the jobs report.
