I just saw a police car flash their lights to go up a one-way street the wrong way just like you'd do in Police Quest and it has completely made my day
A reminder that this man was photographed proudly wearing a Crusader Cross. A reminder that Defence knew, and airbrushed it out of the official photo they released because evidently, it was just too *cool* not to release.
@annaspargoryan@Debz73 TikTok (Reels) taught me recently dehydration is a part of the struggle to wake up properly when your alarm goes off, so now my daily mission is to make my husband have a big drink when his first alarm goes off, one day maybe we can get down to only three??
@CUCUMBER_WARMER@aimeeclarke This is a good point! When mine was about 18 months old we were at the park on a hot day, I thought it'd be a good idea to sprinkle some water on her, cool her down
She disagreed, actually thought it was a very bad idea; now won't drink from that water fountain at that park 🫤
@aimeeclarke Yep that could be it! Maybe don't tell poor dad that assessment though 😅
Whenever my MIL looks after ours I leave toys and treats and check in to see how Juno is going... inevitably she has just been asleep next to the door waiting for us to get home 🤷🏼♀️
@aimeeclarke What does she do while she's home with your dad?
If he's lower value than your mum, she might just be snoozing most of the time and not thirsty, then is excited to see your mum & realises oop it's been all day since I had a drink, best have a big one now
Perhaps the most stark example of the gender pay gap research by @ElizaLittleton and myself.
The most male and women-dominated occupations: plumbers and midwives.
Men are paid more in both

Okay I was just going to leave it because life is too short, but my thinking here is that if you’ve made it to adulthood and have failed to realise how much of “success” is pure luck genuinely believe that the unemployed are the undeserving poor, the only way you’ll ever learn
idk it’s just not true abundance. a food distribution system that allocates huge choice and convenience to some, and relies on immiseration and environmental harm elsewhere. need better responses to it than jealously guarding our right to it in face of its occasional malfunctions
probably a less popular opinion but i do really think that being able to get literally whatever you want at all times of year from hundreds of producers in any supermarket was only ever going to be able to exist for an historical blink of an eye, utterly unsustainable
