'Shout for all you are worth, raise your voice like a trumpet. Proclaim their faults to my people, their sins to the House of Jacob…' Isaiah 58:1-9
Lenten Reflection for Thursday after Ash Wednesday - Bishop Thomas Graham Rose of Dundee Diocese.
Lent is a season of renewal. 'Choose life so that you and your descendants may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and holding fast to him...! -Deuteronomy 30:15-20
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, reminding us of our mortality and the call to repentance. With ashes on our foreheads, we embrace humility, seeking forgiveness and renewal as we journey toward Easter.
During Lent, we reflect on Jesus' forty days in the wilderness, resisting temptation and deepening his relationship with God. We emulate his example, seeking purification and spiritual growth through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
Lent, a Sacred Season of penance and preparation, invites all of us to deepen our faith through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. It calls us to repentance, self-denial, and spiritual renewal in preparation for Easter.
