@grogus_dad There's also a bunch of standards like character per line to accommodate the avg reading speed. Filler words like um... ah... do take up character space and it's genuinely a hassle to figure out how to space the captions with filler words.

@grogus_dad Some clients request the captioning services to omit the curses or swear words. Afaik only SDH have mostly verbatim captions and the client (streaming services/show owner/etc) needs to specifically request SDH which is a bit pricier than regular CC.
