Absolutely. I respect learning a skill or trade. I spent 20+ years in hospitality operations. Successfully.
I wanted to be a game designer. My whole life that's what I wanted.
AI let's me both democratise my own trade ( for gatekeepers: that's the opposite of what you guys are doing) and learning a literal lifelong dream.
Do I expect to make the next GTA? Of course not. But I can finally stress test my ideas and see if they survive reality.
All whilst creating products that can ease the hospitality industry.
( No links, I'm not plugging here)
The point is I'd have never completed those stories I started writing when I was 6.
If you're gatekeeping, remember: AI is here now. It's not going back.
When has complaining about something new ever stopped it? (Not rhetorical, answers on a postcard please)
Great read! Nice to hear a creative highlighting the benefits of ai in role support.
Yes, there will be job losses to ai. But were they really jobs? I mean, who wants to stand in a factory scanning barcodes?
AI doesn't, and shouldn't, have the ability to mimic humanity creativity completely. But it'll make your stuff better if you let it.
I know artist, game Devs, writers all excited to enhance their work. But Bernie gets the news headlines with "kill ai gib mee haff moneez now plz fans" because it gets clicks. Not because edits true . But I digress...
Controversial opinion: if, as a creative, you feel ai will replace you, you likely weren't that creative to begin with.
@BernieSanders So, let's say I agree with your outlook. You're suggestion is to then gives this man the authority and go ahead to do this? Odd precedent you're chasing Bernie but let's see how it plays out.
Hes highlighting that assumptions like 18 hours aren't universal. Just as not the target market is not universal. In this case, I promise the publishers like him more than you.
So yes, he is THEIR target market. Pays his money, plays his game. Post about 18 hours. He mentions that isn't the case for him...
I actually feel like my iq is dropping here guy let's stop
Okay uhh... well now that we are 50% shareholders in this whole AI thing, we must object even more strongly to the data center moratoriumβalso backed by Sanders!βwhich would shrink our profits. (This points to the incoherence of the Sanders position.)
Exactly. Where's the incentive for the creators to create if there's a enforced ceiling. What, we just sit with chatbots because it isn't profitable for the company to develop further?
And by who's authority does Bernie decide this? Wether you vote blue or red, noone voted for him π€·πΌ
If youβve created nothing in your lifetime, by what authority do you govern the creators?
@DaveShapi It means enough for them to grasp.
Seriously though, my take isn't that it hasn't worked, just that the workflow needs adjustment.
And they will adjust, wether we want them to or not. I don't get the pushback. Like, how could we physically uncreate ai? It's here, adjust
@JustA2N@erickstevens82 He simply said that cos he's busy he doesn't get the time to do that. To which you told him, as a paying customer, that he isn't the market.
There's plenty to not get my guy
@erickstevens82 And to the I can do faster with a million kids folk: good for you. Your time management is far superior to mine.
Show us your daily schedule. Cos you definitely have a schedule
@erickstevens82 4 months!!! Ok mister I've-got-loads-of-free-time.π€£
Seriously that's impressive, I've got a back catalogue stretching YEARS at this point.
Remember, everyone lives an identical life and has the exact same responsibilities. In THAT world, he's right.
