A massive fire broke out in Chatuchak early this morning gutting as many as 118 shops, mostly in the area where live animals were kept.
Reports suggests that 1,000s of birds, dogs, cats and other animals were burnt to death.
The fire reportedly started because one of the shops had left the fan on all night to help the animals, he was selling to remain cool but the fan overheated prompting a fire that has taken a huge toll.

Reporters noticed that there was one surviving chicken sitting in a cage at a shop that had been burned down, while all the other chickens had died.

I cannot imagine what it's like- trapped in a cage, burning alive. Breathing fire and smoke. Thousands dead. When is #bangkok going to put a stop to this illegal trade (a trade that's on display for all the world to see)? And now, this. #chatuchak https://t.co/SyD9kNToGL
The worst thing for me is that I still want to bring all the contestants back (without the terror¡st ofc) and give them a healthy experience. They were all so talented. I can't help but imagine how amazing it could have been if they weren't under such pressure

I'm not even depressed from the Eurovision ending, it's now just exciting for the drama to come out against the EBU, and I can't wait to see REAL changes. #eurovision#fucktheebu#eurovision2024
@HenrijsDE But I guess y'all are still lovers of genocide??? Cause that is what Israël is guilty of 🤷🏼♀️ Nobody hates Israël because of the Jews, we hate Israël because it's been committing genocide for years
@IvaMasson It's both. Eurovision is about love and peace and celebrating our differences. Differences in culture but also differences related to lgbtq+ etc.
