Another heatwave predicted here for about ten days time.
Maybe worse than the current one.
We should start naming them the way we name storms, and name them after climate deniers and fossil fuel companies.
The whole "autistic people should just control their meltdowns" discourse reminds me of the "People with Tourette syndrome should just control what they say". People do not understand disorders and why they are labelled as such.
The problem we now face with the UK’s lack of provisions for heat is that we’re now on day 3 or 4, millions of people have barely slept, millions of people are irritable, and millions of people are constantly one wrong move away from punching someone in the face.
People don’t seem to understand - the problem isn’t this heatwave and what to do about it in the immediate. The problem is WHY this heatwave is happening and what that means for the future.
Can people not think beyond one day / week at a time?
