Absolutely right @lowcarbGP Prevention First Clinics recommend #LCHF since 2002 motivated by @davidludwigmd and @NicolaiWorm. With higher degree of insulin resistance we see greater effects of #lowcarbdiet. Many patients need to go <50g Carbs for breakthrough, @ProfTimNoakes
1/2 We audited 127 folks and found those with the worst T2diabetic control (HbA1c) made the greatest improvements when advised on how their diet may be improved to reduce blood sugar. We don't always have to use drugs. Details here: https://t.co/POeZch5DMr
TWO MILLION VIEWS !!! Low carb has come a very long way 🥳 T2D ? Just eat nutrient dense foods that don’t put your blood glucose up Thanks @StevenBartlett Here it is https://t.co/zcGi5YGapj
I’m interested to see such a powerful insurance company is looking closely at cancer I WISH THEY WERE LOOKING AT CAUSE AND PREVENTION in addition to screening and early treatment. Insulin resistance and hyperinsulinaemia comes to mind @BenBikmanPhD@john_schoonbee
@EricTopol@TheLancet This was an “intention to screen” analysis. Participation rates were low. If people don’t go to colonoscopy, but then colonoscopy is evaluated and it’s effectiveness criticized, this is the wrong approach.
"Delicious, calorie-rich food — whether home-prepared or packaged — isn’t the problem. What matters is how long we stay satisfied (satiety) relative to calories consumed." https://t.co/Zb5ziza8Ik
Ah I’m glad you mentioned our ‘daily sugar requirement’ WE NEED about 130 grams of glucose per day for vital functions ALL OF THIS CAN BE MADE BY US FROM FATS OR PROTEIN, ITS CALLED GLUCONEOGENESIS 👍It explains why we don’t die if we fast !
Lp(a) has emerged as a relatively potent driver of residual cardiovascular risk! We are told it is genetic and that a healthy diet cannot effect it!
The reality is that several studies show that replacing carbs with saturated fat can and does lower it, sometimes fairly significantly!

Behold! The @nytimes becomes educated on the science of the ketogenic diet and mental health. This is so encouraging to see!
The first article was on Feb 5 (at the bottom). The most recent one, 5 weeks later, was just published (listed on top). In these few weeks, reporters took time to investigate the existing science on diet and serious mental illness. This science is still preliminary--but it is enormously promising. Congrats to the NYTimes for continuing its inquiry on this important subject.
The question here is not whether real food is superior to protein bars. Of course it is, but the reality is people still resort to these bars.
I don't eat them myself, but for people who do, Lineage is clearly superior. Ingredients are natural (even if too high in carbs/sugar for people on keto). No artificial, industrial fats.
Those in the David bar are chemical novelties--your body has no experience dealing with these. Avoid!
Can the Keto Diet Really Improve Mental Health?
Yes! At least for some people.
More research, including RCTs, will be published soon.

Why do debates on critical questions in nutrition – from the harms of sugar to the cause of obesity – drag on for decades, leaving science at a standstill?
I explore this question through the lens of science philosopher Thomas Kuhn.

@DrIanWeissman In 40 years of medicine I never met a patient whose T2D was the result of eating red meat But I have met 157 people who have achieved drug free T2 diabetes remission by cutting the foods that put up blood sugar - carbs! We published here https://t.co/MoDK29wd9B
Just published our paper WHAT PRACTICAL STEPS CAN CLINICIANS TAKE TO HELP PEOPLE ADDICTED TO JUNK FOOD? In every clinic I see folks struggling to give up bread, pizza, crisps Moderation is a white knuckle ride for them ONLY ABSTINENCE with support works. Help our paper by retweeting please 🙏 https://t.co/u6EiwGp1SQ @DoctorChrisVT@janellison@EllenCalteau@SBakerMD@RFKJr_Official
@EricTopol@JACCJournals Would you please consider, that it is never only the diet, but the consumer’s pathophysiology, too. The same diet may have very different results, depending on the degree of insulin resistance of the person eating it. @lowcarbGP@davidludwigmd
@EndTribalism Absolutely correct, RFK! For Germans: You can learn how to reverse Type 2-Diabetes by diet from my book „Diabetes- zurück auf Null“ (diabetes back to zero) #keto#diabetes@bigfatsurprise@lowcarbGP
AT LAST UPDATED DIETARY GUIDANCE THAT MAKES SENSE !! Note the top line protein and green veg The bottom line starchy carbs. NOWHERE sugar or packets. Just eat real food. We have waited years for this HURRAH !
I want to take a second to thank the heroes behind our new dietary guidelines
@BenBikmanPhD@TyBealPhD to name a few and the decades of tireless work behind the scenes from @bigfatsurprise
