Let me tell you what happened in Leicester Square tonight, because it was better than the film.

The Princess of Wales has not walked a red carpet since May 2022. In between came the year the family does not discuss: the surgery, the diagnosis, the video from the garden bench, the chemotherapy, the months when the country quietly counted the days. Tonight she walked one again.

She wore purple. Deep plum, Jenny Packham, cut lower than she has ever dared, the colour of queens. Her hair was half up, so that you could see the earrings, and the earrings were Diana's pearls. At her throat, on a rope of pearls to the waist, hung an amethyst heart the size of a walnut. Queen Alexandra gave it to the Queen Mother in 1923, the year she married into the family. It has been worn through a war, an abdication and a century of clever men underestimating the women who wore it.

This morning a book went on sale calling that Queen petty and the King a lottery winner on the morning Diana died. The family's reply to a week of it has been one sentence. Tonight the future Queen answered without one: she wore the Queen Mother's heart and Diana's pearls at the same time, and let the flashbulbs do the talking.

And William. Black tie, half a step behind her on the carpet, in her light rather than his own, with the look of a man who walked behind a coffin at fifteen and has spent every year since making sure she would never be alone on a carpet, or in a hospital, or anywhere.

She looked magnificent. Not because of the dress, though it was perfect, and not because of the necklace, though it was a hundred years of the family on a single strand. She looked magnificent because she looked well, and happy, and unafraid.

The book will be in the bargain bins by Christmas. The amethyst goes back to the vault, until another woman wears it on another night for reasons nobody will need to explain. That is the difference between a family and a grievance. One of them lasts.

Brigitte Stegemann was suffering from cancer and opposed Assisted Suicide/Euthanasia due to her Christian beliefs

When her family were away for a number of days, doctors talked privately with her and said that she expressed desire to be killed with their help. In later assessments, the partially blind and deaf Stegemann showed confusion and was shocked when told that she agreed to be put down.

She died with her hands clasped in prayer and covered in her own blood after a botched IV attempt

🚨BREAKING: Dearborn’s mayor is being sued in federal court after the city spent thousands of taxpayer dollars on Ramadan displays — then stonewalled a Christian resident who asked for Easter and Passover too.

Journalist Margot Cleveland filed the suit with the American Freedom Law Center. FOIA records show about $1,500 on “Ramadan Kareem” banners and $5,000 on a crescent-moon display. Police sold Ramadan shirts with the department logo.

She did not ask the city to cancel Ramadan. She asked for equal treatment. The city expanded the Muslim displays instead.

The lawsuit also cites Mayor Abdullah Hammoud telling a Christian pastor at a City Council meeting: “You are not welcome here.”

Were those Muslims that were in America when the Pilgrims first landed? Funny, I thought they were Native American Indians.

Were those Muslims who celebrated the first Thanksgiving Day? Sorry again, those were Pilgrims and Native American Indians.

Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution?

Declaration of Independence?

Bill of Rights?

Didn't think so.

Did Muslims fight for this country's freedom from England? No.

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America? No, they did not.

In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery. Your own half-brother, a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery himself, even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as "pug-nosed slaves." Says a lot about what the Muslim world really thinks of your family's "rich Islamic heritage," doesn't it, Mr. Obama?

Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country?

Not present.

There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King, Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.

Where were Muslims during this country's Women's Suffrage era?

Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so that they are often beaten for not wearing the 'hijab' or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband. Yep, the Muslims are all for women's rights, aren't they?

Where were Muslims during World War II?

They were aligned with Adolf Hitler. The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops, and accepted support from the Nazi's in killing Jews.

Finally, Mr. Obama, where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001?

If they weren't flying planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, or a field in Pennsylvania, killing nearly 3,000 people on our own soil, they were rejoicing in the Middle East. No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, and other cable news networks that day. Strangely, the very "moderate" Muslims whose asses you bent over backward to kiss in Cairo, Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. To many Americans, their silence has meant approval for the acts of that day.

And THAT, Mr. Obama, is the "rich heritage" Muslims have here in America ...

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention the Barbary Pirates. They were Muslims.

And now we can add November 5, 2009 - the slaughter of American soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be counseling soldiers returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Also, don't forget the Boston Marathon bombing on April 15.2013 was done by 2 Muslim Brothers. That, Mr. Obama, is the "Muslim heritage" in America
