If you think the cards aren’t stacked for corporations, remember that this year CMS (Medicare and Medicaid) proposed 2.9% increases for payment to ASCs (Ambulatory Surgical Centers mostly owned by large health corporations) and 3.4% increases to hospitals (unlawful for physicians to own a hospital). All while proposing 2.83% cuts to physicians. Again. After many years of the same increases and cuts.
Remember this when you can’t find a good doctor, but entering a hospital or ASC that looks like a 5 star hotel.
It takes much less schooling, debt, knowledge and you get much more free time and more income if you go into healthcare administration rather than healthcare itself.
@drkeithsiau No need to apologizing for teaching medicine. It obviously was meant to convey the complexity of a commonly performed procedure. Someone will always get offended.
