What does the word Eucharist mean?
The word eucharist is Greek in origin from eucharistein, which means "giving thanks." Jesus Himself uses a similar word in the original Greek N. Testament:.. he took bread and when he gave thanks, he broke it and gave it to them (Luke 22:19).
