The beautiful sides of the Niger Delta. Our beaches, food, achievements, developments, individuals, etc. We celebrate the real Niger Delta for what it is.

Tagged mangrove at the Ogoni Mangrove Wetland, a Ramsar site recognised by the @RamsarConv. Tagged mangroves are usually used for monitoring. @HYPREPNigeria is restoring mangroves in the remediated wetland of Ogoni after decades of hydrocarbon pollution.
Getting stuck in the mud three times during my field visit on Thursday was more than just a routine challenge. It in was a powerful lesson on life, community, and the deliberate effort required to correct environmental wrongs.
Every day on the field with #HYPREP for the #Ogonicleanup reinforces a vital truth: no matter how severe the damage, there is always a path to a remedy. Seeing our remediation and ecosystem restoration efforts take shape first-hand fills me with immense hope.
We are not just cleaning up the environment; we are carving out a better, sustainable future for Ogoniland and the Niger Delta. Proud of the journey, inspired by the community, and fully committed to the restoration ahead.

Congratulations, Prof. @ZabbeyNeni, on marking your 3rd year at the helm, championing the #Ogonicleanup through @HYPREPNigeria.
You walked the talk long before taking on this role, and your dedicated research on the Ogoni environment has proven to be far more than a mere academic exercise.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment. May you continue to be elevated to even greater responsibilities.
Let's start a "Renovate A School" (RAS) movement.
People will nominate schools for renovation all over the country, and one will be picked randomly.
The chosen school will get renovated and crowdfunded.
Here's the catch: once a school is renovated by the public, the voters in that area have to promise to vote out the current representative (House of Representatives/chairman).
This will make elected officials pay attention and really push for changes in our education system.

Today we look at Ken Saro-Wiwa. An activist & environmentalist who fought for the rights of Ogoni people against oil conglomerate Shell & Nigeria then-military dictatorship. Remembering the Ogoni Nine

Today, civil societies, environmentalists and others will be holding a vigil for Ken Saro-Wiwa and 8 others that were killed with him. We will be at 24 Aggrey Road, Port Harcourt and will share bits of the event. To add a word, tweet with #Remembersarowiwa#Ogoni9#MartyrsDay
The Bodo water station, one of the 4 commissioned by @BalarabeAbbas_, Hon Minister of the @FMEnvng last Thursday. This facility has the capacity of 900,000 liters of potable water. Thanks @HYPREPNigeria, @officialABAT@ZabbeyNeni, Please don’t relent. It’s not yet Uhuru. 👏❤️
A beautiful story is being written in Ogoni; mangroves being replanted, medical facilities getting equipped and new ones built, students getting grants, and entrepreneurs getting empowered while new skilled people are being raised. Thank you @HYPREPNigeria and @FMEnvng
Happy birthday celebrations to a Pride of the Mangrove, @ZabbeyNeni, the efficient coordinator of @HYPREPNigeria. Thank you for the good job towards restoring the Niger Delta environment.
Young Environmental activists are taught how to use cameras and drones to monitor and report their environment. If we must have a properly documented Niger Delta, then the young ones must be taught how to tell these stories the best way possible. #ClimateChangeReporting
