#PopeLeoXIV in msg calls for greater welcome of migrants & refugees. We need to "put ourselves in the place of others' stories & suffering, and recognize that we share the same dreams and the same hopes. There are no enemies -- only brothers and sisters."
Fraternity is the most authentic name for closeness. It means rediscovering the face of the other. For those who believe, they recognize the Mystery: the very image of God in the face of the poor, the refugee and even the adversary. #HumanFraternity
#PopeLeoXIV says some recently named bishops may still be wondering why they were chosen. He says he asks the same about his election.

#PopeLeoXIV in video message: At a time when people feel powerless to help migrants and refugees, Christians must continue to insist that "there is no justice without compassion, no legitimacy without listening to the pain of others."
I would like that today we may together begin to build a culture of reconciliation. We must meet one another, heal our wounds, and forgive the wrongs we did and did not do, but whose effects we still carry. There are no enemies — only brothers and sisters. What we need are gestures and policies of reconciliation.
The Jesuit Media Lab's annual Ignatian Creators Summit, a unique blend of professional conference, artistic workshop and spiritual retreat, brings together Catholic “creators,” — poets, essayists, journalists, filmmakers, actors, singers and more. @moc

Gospel of the Day (Luke 6,43-49)
"Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' but not do what I command? I will show you what someone is like who comes to me, listens to my words, and acts on them."

At the start of the third edition of the World Meeting on Human Fraternity, Pope Leo greeted the participants in the Vatican, encouraging them to be “united by a strong and courageous "no" to war, and a resounding "yes" to peace and fraternity.”
He stressed that once we begin to see those around us as our brothers and sisters, we are free “from the pretense of believing that we are isolated individuals or from the logic of forming relationships only out of self-interest.”
Facing the danger of nuclear war, let us learn from history. Even 60 years ago there were huge tensions, but the way of peace was chosen. As the Bible says: “Ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, and walk in it" (Jer 6:16).

Jesus urges us to enter through the narrow door. This means following him in love, just like those who suffer because of their faith but who continue to pray and love, responding to evil with good, thus finding the strength to forgive. #GospelOfTheDay Lk 13:22-30
When a member of the Ram 🏀 team gets married, his teammates show up. It's called FAMILY. All of these young men were instrumental in laying the foundation that made our program special...including the guy in the middle who got married today. Congrats to our guy David Stepovich!
“Lord, if my brother sins against me,
how often must I forgive him?" I invite you read Matthew's Gospel (MT 18:21–19:1) and reflect on the significance of Jesus' response.
Jesus, the Good Shepherd, cares for us because he truly loves us. We, the Church’s pastors, are asked to show that same generosity in tending the flock, so as to manifest Jesus’ concern for everyone and his compassion for each person's wounds. #CureOfArs
To give hope to others, sometimes it is simply enough to be kind, to put aside your own worries and priorities in order to show interest, give the gift of a smile, speak an encouraging word, create a space for listening amid so much indifference.
Teachers don’t work miracles.
Miracles don’t have explanations. The amazing work of teachers can accounted for by their:
Dedication
Creativity
Compassion
Perseverance
Passion &
Energy
The great work of teachers is not miraculous; it’s freakin’ hard work!
These speeches are enriching resources not only for Colloquium participants, but also for the wider network of Jesuit educators and staff members, as they provide deeper context and perspective on the four UAPs. 2/3
