September can be a challenging month as a Headteacher/SLT, especially for those who are new in post. I’m in my 11th year of Headship and still think it’s the best job in the world - but so challenging! , I am always here to listen, if anyone needs a sounding board. No judgement
I love my job. I love being a Headteacher. I love welcoming more children with SEND to enhance my school. Yes, the job is bloody hard, but it’s one that brings me joy and awe every day, we’ll most days.

@DeputyGrocott We teach sign throughout the school through various ways including signs of the week, all assemblies have elements of sign - including our behaviour values. Children all use
CiN: my excuse to dress as a giraffe. For a whole day, I spent it in classes, with children. No observations, no judgement, no expectations. And ‘not surprisingly’ I learnt so much. Maybe everyday should be a giraffe day!
@CensoredHead @JigsawPSHE It’s an amazing scheme where mindfulness, self appreciation and the RSE is whole school. I’ve been using it for three years now and the children also love it. Have fun!
@pwallen1985 I have reduced right down. Have found a lot of really good online things such as Headteachers report, CPD tracker for appraisals and Edukey for SEND, behaviour and safeguarding. I still have my trust notepad but shread this when finished

@thosethatcan Lottery. We also are still doing the Xmas card designs this year - slightly different due to Covid but this usually is a good fund raiser
