@stephen_petrus@NYCTSubway The best thing we should do is lobby federal and local govt to spend more on improving our transportation infrastructure because disruptions and other inconveniences are all too common when it goes to the MTA 🫠
@MonaKnows2 @WestJournalism I mean... exactly. Which is why when people try to use the 2nd amendment to talk about their "right" to own guns and that Big government is trying to "take their freedoms," they are forgetting the context of that 2nd amendment
I’ve always shied away from luxury brands for a reason — I’d rather spend my hard-earned dollars and splurge for ethical, sustainability-focused brands
Italy raided factories & found that Armani and Dior bags are made by illegal Chinese workers in Italy who sleep in the workshop and make €2-3/hr. Both companies have been placed under Italian court administration.
Dior paid a supplier $57 to assemble* a handbag that sells for $2,780
Armani bags that were sold to consumers for €1,800 cost €93* to make.
(These don’t include raw materials costs)
People often wrongly conflate higher prices for higher ethical standards.
@BarakGranot @Rivy122185 @mhdksafa The Israeli definition of peace and coexistence has consistently been to limit Palestinians' freedoms and take their land and resources. This is why the peace treaty fell through and why Palestinians initially voted in Hamas (though there wasn't an election since then)
@ChrisCoons@MorningEdition Too much funding goes toward military and defense. This money can be better spent on fortifying our public infrastructure, providing free healthcare for all, etc; in other words, actually helping the people in our own country. No more supporting violence.
@davidmweissman I was a fan of yours back in 2020, but your approval of the censure saddens me. Please do not equate what Hamas did with the entirety of the Palestinian population; they do not deserve what is happening to them right now. Tliab is advocating for preserving lives, not ending more.
@JoeyMannarinoUS for a long time now — when it serves US interests to do so. This isn’t a one-sided Dem or Repub issue; this is about reevaluating longstanding American foreign policy goals.
