It is time we set tribalism aside and start looking inward.

Yesterday, we received a delegation from the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) led by its Managing Director, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, at my office.

We formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Abia State Government and the NRC to enable the construction of an access road across the railway corridor linking Okpara Square and Akanu Ibiam Street (Goodshed) to Bende Road in Umuahia.

The project is part of our broader plan to modernize the State capital, ease traffic congestion, and integrate transport facilities into a central hub that will serve our people better. With the railway station, bus terminal, and other infrastructure working together, Umuahia will become a true transportation hub.

I have directed the Commissioners for Transport and Works, alongside the General Manager of Umuahia Capital Development Authority (UCDA), to commence work immediately and deliver the project without delay.

I also urged the NRC to consider expanding train services from Port Harcourt to Aba, while assuring them of our government’s full support in strengthening collaboration with the Federal Government for improved mobility across Abia and the Southeast.

This partnership is another step towards building a modern, connected Abia that works for everyone.

Breaking: OLANREWAJU FADEHAN, the current Head of Examinations at the WAEC office in Awka, Anambra State, has openly acknowledged and confessed the many issues surrounding the 2026 WAEC examinations, including some of the factors that led to mass failures among students who legitimately sat for the exams.

We will get to the root of this. Our students, who have worked hard for years, deserve justice, and we will ensure they get it.

It is a big shame that WAEC has allowed these failures to put the futures of our children at risk.

The new Iran/Oman pact which creates a very funny but fickle solution with the Iranian and Omani routes within the same strait of Hormuz will soon implode.

Iran wants to checkmate Oman and be the sole watchdog of the entire strait of Hormuz while also using the Yemen’s Houthis to keep a check on the Saudis new found glory in the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait.

As long as the US play the waiting game by going back and forth with Iran ( indirectly China), there are imminent plan to alternatively transit oil while bypassing the strait of Hormuz.

When Somaliland was being given recognition by Israel, the plan was to use their waters (Bab-el-Mandeb Strait) as an alternative when fight breaks out with Iran and the Strait of Hormuz is blockaded.

Unfortunately, the best means of transporting oil is the water.

Even though the Saudi Arabia East-West Pipeline (Petroline) expanded its primary Red Sea transit capacity to 7 million barrels per day, providing a vital overland escape route for crude away from the Persian Gulf.
If they don’t liberate the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, the billion dollar project becomes futile.

The second UAE oil pipeline to Fujairah is targeted for completion a few months away in third quarter 2027.

Will the world wait and suffer the soaring oil and energy prices till a such a *susceptible* solution surfaces.

Susceptible because all the alternatives to transporting oil (other than using the waters) are vulnerable to overland regional conflict.

The closest alternative might be the Indian MEIDP gas line which would potentially run to the Gujarat coast at depths of up to 3450 metres, making it one of the deepest offshore pipeline.

I’m stuck between saying that’s a callous or insensitive submission when you think about US servicemen’s life and sacrifice.

Let’s look away from US servicemen who have being injured or lost their lives in the last two years due to US/Israeli military campaigns.

I’ll take you back to Dec 2001, three months after 9/11 when Delta Force (1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta) commanded by Delta Force major (writing under the pseudonym Dalton Fury) closed in on OBL( Osama Bin Laden) at the caves in Tora Bora, Afghanistan.

The contigent included 40 Delta operators as the core of a small force of about 90 U.S. special operations troops and support personnel (plus a handful of CIA officers and a small contingent of British Special Boat Service commandos).
They requested for larger conventional reinforcements (e.g., Rangers or Marines) to seal escape routes into Pakistan.

THIS REQUEST WAS denied.

When they aimed to pursue without support, they were told to standoff and desist from pursuing OBL.
