A woman (30) wrote to me for advice.

She had just ended a 7-year relationship that led to a proposal and family introduction.

Her fiancé was once a hardworking photographer but later abandoned that path, got involved in internet fraud, and eventually moved into forex trading.

She admitted she enjoyed the money at first, but she always pushed him to build something legitimate.

Years passed. The proposal happened. The wedding never happened.

Despite repeated conversations, deadlines, and encouragement to get a job or stable source of income, nothing changed.

Three years after the proposal and after years of cohabiting, she left.

Shortly after, she reconnected with her first serious boyfriend (30) from university, a hardworking man who had wanted her back for years.

He knew she had been in a long relationship. He knew she had chosen another man over him years ago. Yet he still wanted her.

They got back together.

He got promoted at work, introduced his siblings to her, and appeared serious about a future together.

Her concern?

Both of them are 30 (but he's a month older).

She had been hearing opinions that women shouldn't marry men their age.

She also mentioned that years ago, a pastor had told her she would meet her husband before finishing university, and a family friend who "sees things" recently told her that the forex ex was never the right man and that her current boyfriend had always been the one.

During my conversation with her, I asked:

"This man knew you were dating someone else?"

"Yes."

"And he still wanted you back?"

"Yes."

She also mentioned that the man only recently found out she had cohabited with her ex.

When asked why she thinks he accepted her despite everything, she replied:

"I just feel he loves me."

I pushed further:

"If your brother went back to a woman who left him, spent years with another man, and then returned, what would you advise him?"

Her answer:

"I would tell him to watch her closely. If he sees she's still good, then he can go ahead."

Later, she asked me what I thought about the prophecy and the family friend's spiritual conviction that her current boyfriend was the right man all along.

I told her that I am not a pastor and my response was blunt:

"I think you're settling for him because you've seen the other man was no good for you. I think you're desperate. I think he'll waste your time too because you left him for a yahoo boy and later came back after discovering the legitimate earner was the better option. I think he'll get his pound of flesh and eventually dump you. Unless he's a mumu."

The woman simply replied:

"Okay sir, thank you for the advice 🙏"

The question remains:

Was she genuinely choosing a better man after learning hard lessons over 7 years...

Or was she merely settling because time, regret, and disappointment had cornered her?

Women hate being caught in infidelity.

Whether she was careless or you were smart in catching her.

She'll despise you for taking her shield from her.

A woman's fidelity is her shield.

You'll not go the extra mile for your woman if you have seen that she's not faithful to you.

And she'll not like to lose all those privileges that she gets from you.

So, once that shield is broken, all the good treatment that she has been giving to you will most likely stop.

Because she doesn't expect you to see her as the same person anymore, and she does not expect you to be the same caring and loving boyfriend or husband anymore.

But if you decide to still remain blind, despite all that you now know, she'll be happy with you, but keep punishing you for being stupid.

And not courageous enough to walk away.

There is no other way to explain these things to you.

But men who have decided to remain blind, know what they're facing.
