I am as certain as I have been at any time since Jack Smith’s first indictment of Donald Trump, that Trump will NEVER get close to the Oval office again.
Do I think Trump will be the GOP nominee? I do not. Even if he would be, I don’t think he’s on the ballot in November. (Yeah, I’m aware many people scratch their head when I say this. That’s okay.)
I am also as certain as I’ve ever been, that if we would manage to fuck things up…and allow him (or some other Trump-like MAGA candidate) in the White House…that the only way we’d ever see them out of office again, is too ugly to think about for long.
Am I an optimist? No. I’m a realist. If I don’t think something is plausible, I’m not going to be a vociferous cheerleader for it.
Do I think it is plausible that Trump is not on the November ballot? Yes.
Do I think it is plausible that, if he is, President Biden crushes him? Yes.
Do I think it is POSSIBLE, that he is on the ballot, and manages to somehow wrangle his way back in the White House? Yes. Anything is possible.
My gauge goes like this:
Plausible: Stands a good chance of happening.
Possible: Not likely, but could happen.
It’s not plausible that a small meteor tears through my roof as I’m writing this and takes me out.
It is possible, for sure. But I’d probably have a better chance of winning the Powerball three weeks in a row before I’d get a fatal Fred Flintstone style knot on my head from a meteor.
Is it plausible that I will get a cup of coffee right after I publish this tweet? Yes. I have coffee, coffee k-cups, a coffee cup…and I want another cup of coffee.
It’s POSSIBLE, that I still don’t have another cup of coffee….but it damn sure isn’t likely/plausible.
As events unfold, and new information to draw from becomes available…and my view of what is plausible, or not…might change, you can bet on me saying so.
For now, however…this is where I’m at. It’s solid, and I feel good about it.
That doesn’t mean I won’t give you reminders of what’s at stake, and how ugly that could be if we manage to screw it up, (because we work harder to avoid pain than we do to gain pleasure) but it doesn’t mean my position isn’t still what it has been. It is.
Frog came into the house.
”Toad,” said Frog, “your pants and jacket are lying on the floor.”
“Tomorrow,” said Toad from under the covers.
“Your kitchen sink is filled with dirty dishes,” said Frog.
“Tomorrow,” said Toad.
That night when Toad went to bed he thought the biggest thoughts that he could think. Toad thought about giant sunflowers. He thought about tall oak trees. He thought about high mountains covered with snow.
This message was written by a Palestinian to a Jewish friend. Then that Jewish friend passed it on to Palestinians friends. I don't know the person who originally wrote it. And now I'm passing it on to you. As the rhetoric becomes genocidal, root yourself in humanity. Pass it on.
“Shall I look?” said Pooh, who was beginning to feel eleven o’clockish. He found a small tin of condensed milk, and something seemed to tell him that Tiggers didn’t like this, so he took it into a corner by itself, and went with it to see that nobody interrupted it. ~A.A.Milne
“There are charms to secure happiness. If you believe that you are going to be lucky, you go about your business with a smile, you take disaster with a smile, you start afresh with a smile. And to do that is to be in the way of happiness.” ~A.A.Milne #tuesdaymotivations#lucky
“I can face the winter with calm. Crisp and sparkling days, long pleasant evenings, cheery fires. Good work shall be done this winter. Life shall be lived well. The end of the summer is not the end of the world. Here’s to October.” ~A.A.Milne #October#October1#nature
Gregory has autism. The Muppets are Gregory’s entire life. Listen to his incredible rendition of 'Rainbow Connection’ a song he’s has been singing everyday the last few years. He dedicated this song to Jim Henson who would’ve turned 87 earlier this week
Piglet thought they ought to have a Reason for going to see everybody, like Looking for Small or Organizing an Expotition, if Pooh could think of something.
Pooh could.
“We’ll go because it’s Thursday,” he said, “and we’ll go to wish everybody a Very Happy Thursday.” ~A.A.Milne
“I see quite clearly that all good things must come to an end. The summer has been splendid, but it has lasted long enough. This morning I welcomed the chill in the air and viewed the falling leaves with cheerfulness.” ~A.A.Milne #Autumn#AutumnEquinox 🍁
