Ricky Gervais on 60 Minutes Makes a Crystal-Clear Case for Free Speech
He put it perfectly: the great thing about freedom of speech is that I can say what I want, and you can say you're offended, and I get to decide whether I care or not.
Because let's be honest, there's nothing you can say that someone, somewhere won't find offensive.
That's why blasphemy laws are so absurd, they're basically trying to protect an all-powerful deity from having its feelings hurt.
At the end of the day, we should be free to criticise any idea.
Just because you're offended doesn't automatically mean you're right.
Spot on, Ricky. Free speech isn't about never upsetting anyone, it's about the right to speak anyway.
Modern diet logic:
Eating an avocado from Mexico shipped 5,000 miles: Sustainable, healthy.
Eating a cow from a farm 40 miles away: Destroying the planet.
Drinking oat milk made from industrial oats processed with seed oils: Clean eating.
Drinking milk from a cow: Problematic.
The mental gymnastics are impressive.
@rapeganginquiry@RupertLowe10 Itβs shameful that this is being ignored. These vile beings should be given life in prison. They donβt deserve a life.
@beverleyturner@beverleyturner - we lived in SC for 12 years and it always suprised us how expensive cereal was and also how much sweeter than it is in the UK!
If you support single sex spaces for women that include bathrooms, changing rooms & sports please Rt & like. I firmly believe biological females have that right, to personal dignity & fair sport in the Uk but across the whole world. Iβm prepared to stand up & be counted. Are you?
Please β¦.everyone read this book and stop eating ultra processed food. It isnβt βfoodβ itβs an industrialised edible substance and is practically unregulated in many countries. Not only is it destroying our health it is destroying the planet too.
@elonmusk have you read βUltra Processed Peopleβ by Chris Van Tulleken? If not then please do and then save us all from the dreadful harm ultra processed food does to us. It is almost entirely unregulated. Please help
