she fell into the chilly water alongside the boy, immediately feeling the temperature send a shiver up her spine. as she sat up shaking and chattering her teeth, six sent a final smaller splash at him.
โnice going, clumsy.โ she ruffled his wet hair. โnow weโre both soaked.โ
But the distraction at his side was all the clumsy boy needed to completely misstep . His heel hits a particularly large rock or piece of driftwood under the dark water , catching his leg .
A sharp gasp of surprise escapes him as he loses balance , and both of them (...)
six thrashed and struggled, breathless from laughter while she tried to escape.
โno!โ the girl began kicking her legs and attempting to pry his arms loose from her. when that didnโt work, she resorted to reaching down to his side and tried to tickle him under his coat.
But his longer arms are able to snatch her up against him . " Gotcha !! " he laughs heartily , flopping back into the water with her in tow .
" surrender !! Or we get fully soaked !! " he says , hugging tight around her arms so she can't get away . But not too tight .
to head towards the wet sand instead in hopes for easier terrain.
the girl bubbled in rare laughter, sloshing through water and trying to evade monoโs attack. she had a slightly harder time wading through the knee depth salt water, giggling and squealing as he drew closer.

like a startled cat, she immediately stopped clinging and scrambled off his back. only to turn over and send a splash of water his way with her arm, retaliation for making her cold and soaked.
a short barrage of splashing followed the first, this time with childish giggles.

He cries as she jumps onto his back . Her weight is next to nothing to him , so the tackle is more or less a hug .
Despite this , he grand her legs , forcing her into piggyback ride and prete ds to fall forward with her weight . . . Right back into the water ! (...)

growling in annoyance as the chill ocean splashes over her, the shivering girl crawled out onto the sand and gave chase to her companion. she pushed back her hood and wet hair to see clearer as she attempted to tackle his taller frame from behind.
Playfully shoving @prisonslullaby with his hip , forcing her feet into the cold water of the ocean .
Looking away nonchalantly , he looks around the sandy beach .
but truthfully it would make survival significantly easier if they had ways to protect themselves like natural armor. she began picking at the hem of monoโs sleeve, absently.

she quietly listened, curiosity admittedly peaked at the notion of a small creature capable of protecting itself despite being so weak.
โwish we could do that.โ six curled up a little to make herself smaller. โthen monsters wouldnโt try to eat us.โ

normally she tuned out monoโs chatter whenever it became too annoying as they traveled, but occasionally some of the stories and little fun facts he told her were actually quite interesting, sometimes making her want to hear more. whatever education she was lacking, ยป

dragged him back to her sleeping spot with her so she could keep a closer eye on him. even as she lied back down, her fingers remained latched onto some part of his coat, as though ensuring he wouldnโt get up again without her knowing.
her head shook lightly. she couldnโt possibly tell him that she had been scared by a bad dream, sheโd never hear the end of it.
instead, she forced her trembles to still and pushed herself away from mono, giving his arm a soft punch for good measure as if heโd been the one to ยป

face and expressions of pure agony as leeches devoured his flesh. she pushed the memory back, not wanting to think about how helpless and weak she felt being unable to save another companion.
grumbling under her breath, she took the boyโs hand wordlessly and practically ยป
childish of her to let a dream startle her like that. obviously mono was fine, and they hadnโt encountered a single leech since entering the city. bad dreams cannot affect reality, no matter how terrible they areโฆ
even so, her tiny hands clutched the back of his coat tightly.
six beelines for him over the fallen shelves and debris, paddling over to him. the haziness of the dream began to fade as she looked him over, alive and well, and realized none of the torturous fate she had witnessed befall him was real after all.

mumbled, before unexpectedly stepping forward one more step to envelop her small arms around his waist, hugging her face into his torso without explanation.
her shoulders shook with the difficulty it took to hold herself together and keep from crying right in front of him. how ยป
