@github I am overwhelmed with the amount of options for the new fine-grained personal access tokens and I cannot find proper documentation that goes beyond a list of endpoints. :/ What permissions are required for read access to repos and write access to package registries?
@mauricioaniche On top of that, for me it is less important to maximize the productivity of a single developer rather than maximizing team productivity. I found PP to be an amazing tool for that, as it paves the way for better individual performance in the non-PP sessions.
@mauricioaniche You seemed to endorse the original post. :) I alternate solo-coding (80%) and PP (20%) and I have observed great effects after introducing PP in my current project. Maybe it is just my personality, but I am also usually more energetic after PP than I was before.
@tau_phoenix@Dropbox So far, I always symlinked my "Documents" to the "Dropbox" folder. Unfortunately, this is no longer possible in current versions of macOS... I am not sure if this would be different for hard links, but I generally would prefer not to use hard links for directories. :)
I stopped using my paid @dropbox account today. Main reason? The utterly artificial requirement that the sync folder MUST be called "Dropbox" made it impossible to integrate in my use case. I am always sorry to see when usability of software suffers from weird PR decisions.
@Grady_Booch I think this oversimplifies the problem a bit... it is like saying Git is bad, because GitHub can enforce policies on their platform. You can host your own repository and you can host your own wallet.
With my German background, I feel a certain tickle whenever I hear the Russian president speak. I hear open lies, hate towards minorities, and megalomaniac phantasies... we all need to strongly oppose this or it is not going to end well.
Is there any good use case for the Maven shade plugin? It seems that this is just a generic tool for making dependency management hell for everybody downstream...
@ID_AA_Carmack The same attention to detail should be applied to build processes. It is important to achieve reproducible builds that can be repeated in a year, when new versions of your dependencies, operating system, compiler, build tool, ... have been released.
@_ebhre@thapakazi_@tudelft As said before, if you think that you are qualified, please feel free to apply. I might be able to make exceptions for outstanding students, but you need to convince me that this could work out.
Do you like Software Engineering and processes like CI/CD? Do you want to pursue an academic career and do a PhD? I have a position for you here in The Netherlands at @tudelft. Work with me on the next generation of CI/CD tools! https://t.co/vBZAdvG0jM (5 days left)
@mmohajer9 @tudelft If you think that you are qualified, please feel free to apply. AFAIK, I can make exceptions for outstanding students... but I have to see your background to assess whether I am convinced that this will work out.
