We’ve been blown away by the support we’ve received, and the trust that has been put in us. From day one we’ve been focused on building a secure marketplace for OTC deals, allowing $PRL to be priced for the first time on the 6th of May 2026.

When building the OTC desk, we ended up creating the first
- non-coinbase transactions
- schnorr signatures (BIP-340) signed and verified by the network
- multisig addresses, 2-of-2 Taproot leaves embedded in a single bech32m address
- time-locked refund paths that embed a refund brand gated by OP_CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY at the trade's refund-timeout heigh

In other words: outside of coinbase rewards, most Bitcoin-style primitive that #Pearl inherited from its upstream was first exercised in the wild by us while building this OTC desk.

We’ve implemented many features preventing spoofing of the order book, dealt with a wide scale attack and had many sleepless nights to continuously improve the website. Given the natural tradeoff between speed and trust, we recently focused on improving the UI and UX. Now it’s shipped.
