Interacting with the selected cadets, the Gp Cdr encouraged them to train relentlessly, trust one another and wear the Group's colours with pride. Their energy, determination and team spirit reflected the true strength of NCC - where ordinary young minds prepare to achieve extraordinary goals.

The visit also recognised outstanding cadets and ANOs whose commitment continues to inspire excellence across the Group.

[The Eastern Sword @IN_EasternFleet]

RAdm Vishal Bishnoi assumed command of the Eastern Fleet from RAdm Alok Ananda, YSM, at a ceremonial parade on 24 Jul 26.

Commissioned on 01 Jul 94, the officer is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and the College of Air Warfare, Secunderabad.

A Fighter Pilot, he has held several key afloat and shore appointments, including Command of Aircraft Carrier INS Vikramaditya, Indian Naval Ships Trikand and Gharial as well as Command of the Air Station INS Dega and Air Squadron INAS 300.

The skies came alive with youthful ambition as Gp Cdr, NCC Group Visakhapatnam visited 6(A) Air Sqn NCC during its Annual Inspection.

From Virus SW-80 Microlight flying and simulator training to aeromodelling, cadets showcased confidence, skill and discipline - the hallmarks of the NCC Air Wing. Their passion for aviation and eagerness to learn made every interaction truly inspiring.

Gp Cdr appreciated the Squadron's commitment to training excellence and commended the CO, ANOs, PI Staff and civilian staff for nurturing confident, disciplined and future-ready young leaders. During interaction with the cadets, the Gp Cdr encouraged them to dream fearlessly, embrace challenges and keep reaching for greater heights.

विजय की स्मृति, वीरों का सम्मान!

कारगिल विजय दिवस की 27वीं वर्षगांठ के अवसर पर रक्षा मंत्री श्री @rajnathsingh ने 'शौर्य विजय यात्रा' को नई दिल्ली स्थित राष्ट्रीय समर स्मारक (नेशनल वॉर मेमोरियल) से हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया। यह मोटरसाइकिल यात्रा लद्दाख के द्रास स्थित कारगिल वॉर मेमोरियल तक पहुंचेगी।

13 दिनों तक चलने वाली इस यात्रा में 28 राइडर्स शामिल हैं, जिनमें सेना के वर्तमान एवं पूर्व सैनिकों के साथ उनके परिवार के सदस्य भी शामिल हैं। यह दल उत्तरी हिमालय के दुर्गम मार्गों से गुजरते हुए लगभग 1,900 किलोमीटर की द���री तय करेगा।

'शौर्य विजय यात्रा' उन वीर सैनिकों के अदम्य साहस, अटूट समर्पण और सर्वोच्च बलिदान को नमन है, जिनकी असाधारण वीरता ने 1999 के कारगिल युद्ध में भारत को ऐतिहासिक विजय दिलाई। यह यात्रा राष्ट्र की कृतज्ञता और वीरों के प्रति सम्मान का प्रतीक है।

⚓️Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, #CNS, undertook his maiden visit to #EasternNavalCommand after assuming charge as CNS. He was briefed by Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, #FOCinC(East), on the prevailing maritime security environment, the Command's operational preparedness and ongoing operational commitments across the Eastern seaboard and the Indian Ocean Region.

Addressing officers and sailors, the CNS commended the Command's high standards of operational readiness, professionalism and unwavering commitment to safeguarding India's maritime interests.

⚓ An #IndianNavy ALH Mk III helicopter from #EasternNavalCommand evacuated stranded fisherman from a merchant vessel off #Visakhapatnam.

The fisherman, whose fishing boat had gone missing at sea, had been rescued by a nearby merchant vessel on 05 Jul 26. Based on request from Civil Administration on 06 July 26, he was evacuated by the Navy helicopter through rescue hoist and was provided medical assistance; prior handing over to the Civil Authorities at Visakhapatnam.

[Eastern Naval Command 🇮🇳 @IN_HQENC]

A professionally intriguing seminar on “Submarine Sonars – Roadmap for Enhanced Exploitation” was conducted at #Visakhapatnam on 03 Jul by SMHQ under the aegis of #EasternNavalCommand.

Chaired by VAdm Susheel Menon, Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command, the seminar brought together industry experts who are spearheading new projects, warfighters who have mastered the art of operating new generation sonars being designed under #AatmanirbharBharat, system maintainers, domain experts from academia, and design institutions. Papers were presented on contemporary topics of submarine sonar exploitation, HR optimisation of operators, new concepts in database management and incorporation of emerging technologies. A compendium of papers submitted by Indian sonar designers and skilled operators of submarines was also released.

The seminar, steered by Flag Officer Submarines provided a platform for discussing methodology towards advancement in design and built of sonars and technology for data-fusion.

[Chairman, Hindustan Shipyard Limited @CMD_HSL]

Rear Admiral Chandrasekharan Raghuram, VSM (Retd.) has assumed charge as the Chairman & Managing Director of HSL, Visakhapatnam on 02 Jul 26.
He was commissioned in the Indian Navy on 10 Nov 1989 and has served with distinction for over three and a half decades. Over his distinguished Naval career, he has acquired rich and diverse experience across Naval Engineering, Ship Maintenance, Strategic Planning and Leadership at key Operational and Command appointments. In recognition of his distinguished service, he was conferred the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) in 2017.
An alumnus of the Naval College of Engineering, Lonavala, Cranfield University (United Kingdom), Naval War College and National Defence College, he has built an illustrious career with extensive experience in Afloat Operations, Equipment Life Cycle Support (LCS), Research & Development, Warship Design, Combat System Integration and Instructional assignments. He has served onboard frontline warships viz. INS Gomati and INS Trishul, including as part of the Commissioning Crew of INS Trishul. His assignments at Naval Dockyard, Afloat Support Team for Talwar Class Ships and Weapons and Electronics Systems Engineering Establishment (WESEE) provided significant expertise in Life Cycle Support and Combat System Integration.
During his distinguished career, he has held several important appointments including Commanding Officer of the premier Training Establishment INS Valsura, Principal Director Electrical Engineering at Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy), Command Electrical Officer at Headquarters, Eastern Naval Command, Chief Staff Officer (Technical) at Headquarters, Western Naval Command, besides Senior leadership roles at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai and Naval Headquarters. Prior to assuming charge at HSL, he was serving as the Assistant Chief of Materiel, handling maintenance of key Naval Platforms.
As Chairman & Managing Director, Rear Admiral C Raghuram (Retd) will steer Hindustan Shipyard Limited towards further strengthening its position as a strategic Defence Shipyard and advancing India’s vision of Self-reliance in Maritime Defence capabilities.

History Re-written: Triplet Warships Join Naval Fleet

Kolkata, June 21, 2026: Yet another feather was added to the cap of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) Ltd. when the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi commissioned three warships built by the shipyard into the Indian Navy at Kolkata on 21 Jun 26.

The commissioning of INS Dunagiri, INS Sanshodhak and INS Agray marks a defining milestone in India’s naval history and reinforces the nation’s growing strength in indigenous warship design and construction under the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The Hon’ble PM commissioned the warships in the presence of Shri R. N. Ravi, Hon’ble Governor of WB, Shri Suvendu Adhikari, Hon’ble Chief Minister of WB, Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, Chief of the Naval Staff and senior officials of Indian Navy & GRSE. The commissioning of three major surface warships on a single day is a first-of-its-kind achievement for any shipyard in India and highlights GRSE’s robust shipbuilding infrastructure, advanced technological capability and efficient project execution.

The Hon’ble PM stated, “I am delighted that on this occasion I have had the opportunity to come to this great land of Bengal. This is the land that gave a new direction to India’s ideas, that accelerated India’s renaissance and that connected India to the world through the seas for centuries. Today, on this very soil, an important event linked to Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Surakshit Bharat & Viksit Bharat is taking place. These three vessels are also symbols of three important national commitments. They have been built in India, their designs were developed in India.”

On the occasion, Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, Chief of the Naval Staff, stated, “GRSE has long been a trusted partner of the Indian Navy in ensuring maritime security. On this occasion, I would like to congratulate the GRSE team. Last year, in Mumbai, the Prime Minister witnessed the first tri-commissioning in India. After 17 months, the second tri-commissioning in Kolkata shows that India's warship construction capacity, modernity, self-reliance and self-confidence are all gaining new momentum".
