the biggest wins i've seen in google ads come from removing things...
-- removing broad match keywords eating 1/3 of the budget
-- removing the 5 different buttons on the landing page so there's ONLY one thing to do: call / get an estimate
-- removing irrelevant search terms from day 1, before they turn into a bigger pile week by week
if you're a plumber or roofer and the phone isn't ringing, the natural instinct is to add. add more keywords, add pricing to the ads, or bump the bids
i mean yea, adding works sometimes. but your campaigns are probably already hauling dead weight.
so cut what isn't working
"great service. would highly recommend."
i could paste that review on a billboard for a plumber, a roofer, or a nail salon, and nobody could tell the difference...
someone was happy with your job, sure. but the next homeowner reading it wants proof you can handle THEIR job
what truly earns their trust:
* the before/after photo of the job
* mention the town and the month and year
* how long it took
* what the customer said once it was done
now the guy in springfield with a leaking water heater sees a leaking water heater fixed in springfield last month
That outperforms a five-star badge every time, and it usually converts better
@DanielSmidstrup yea, most business have speed to lead issue. kinda sucks when you ask, "how was that lead?" and they respond haven't called them yet... c'mon man (hahaha frustration ๐)
running google ads for service businesses means responding FAST
let me tell you... your competitor can rank #1 and still lose the job to you because you actually PICKED UP
@DanielSmidstrup brilliant then, will keep things as is... and what's your take on reply guy strategy? i reply to posts i genuinely feel I can add something... usually 2-4 comments
