Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe in new interview:
"Later this year, we'll have full supervised point-to-point, which will be very similar to @Tesla's FSD. That will roll out to all of our Gen 2 vehicles and, of course, R2. Next year, we'll allow it to go unsupervised, so you can take your eyes off the road. The next step is achieving full capability for the vehicle to drive itself with no one in the car. We've been developing that for a while for our personal vehicles, but we also see it unlocking new business models, robotaxi being one of them.
We took the decision to parter with Uber so we could focus on the tech and leverage them for their access to a big distribution channel. They're really a category of one. There's no one quite at their scale or reach."

Elon -
My hope was to help align everyone's vision for SpaceX making life multi-planetary by releasing this interview right after the IPO on Friday.
We tried incredibly hard to finish the set build last month but the space suits took longer than expected to get right.
I know this week is likely the most jammed you will ever be and it would kill me if we can't make this happen.
With that in mind, I'm prepared to greenlight whatever spend is required to keep the set up until you're able to make it.
Just need a date.

It concerns me that you say “securing the long-term future of consciousness” instead of “…human consciousness”.
It seems like the ultimate goal of yours is to unleash AI into the universe rather than human consciousness.
If so, why is that?
@elonmusk I don’t think this question is as profound as you think it is. The universe is incomprehensibly vast, and with our limited optical perspective, we think we’re going to see evidence of them at the scale in which we’d be optically peering?
Actually Smart Summon is great, except there is one huge issue. If the vehicle is forced to move away from you in order to move to the next parking aisle where it can move towards you, then the vehicle can exceed the max distance from you, which strands the vehicle out into traffic.
The only thing you can do at that point is run to the vehicle’s range in hopes of reactivating summon.
Is there a way to tell if an account has algorithm debuffs placed on it (ie shadow ban), or were they all removed when you took over X?
Feels like as a verified user my posts only get maybe less than 10 views each.
My posts could just be bad, but then I see other crap posts that have tens of thousands of views, and it makes one wonder.
@MattWalshBlog Dude seriously. I’ve been thinking what a tremendous value it would be for Trump to crack down on Indian / Nigerian scammers. They’re swindling so many Americans out of billions of dollars per year.
Agreed.
Since FSD and Optimus will share the same chipset and operational paradigm, this makes sense.
I want to teach my Tesla to back into a specific spot in front of my garage.
Feature request for FSD. I want to be able to put my car into “learning mode” where I can make a voice note of what I want it to do and then do a demonstration and it learns it. Backing into the center of my garage is a great example. It always likes to pull into the garage vs backing in. Am I crazy or would people actually like this?
@elonmusk Make us a bigger vehicle for bigger families, please! Society isn’t structured to facilitate larger families. Model Y L is only good as long as the back seat kids are very young.
@elonmusk We need a tracker that displays the amount of seconds that the current day is averaging for cybercab output production time. Then we can be part of the journey from wherever it is up until 5-10 second output production time. Kinda like the FSD miles driven tracker.
