One of the hardest things to accept is that you can love someone with your whole heart and still need to leave them. Love doesn't automatically make something healthy. It doesn't erase the hurt, restore the trust, or make staying good for you. Sometimes you walk away still loving them because you finally realize you have to love yourself too.
Lately, l've been staying out the way, focusing on my own life, keeping more things private, and learning to let situations be what they are.
I'm handling what I can and leaving the rest alone.
Study the feeling you get right after you cancel plans. If it's relief, the plans were wrong. If it's guilt, the plans were probably right and the canceling was avoidance. That post-cancellation feeling is one of the most honest diagnostics you have.
it really hits different when someone you're deeply attached to hurts you in a way you never expected, then acts like you meant nothing. that kind of pain
doesn't disappear overnight. you're not only trying to move on from the person-you're also trying to heal from everything they did and the version of you they left behind. some wounds fade, but certain memories stay with you forever.
Weird thing about getting older:
You realize your parents were just making it up as they went along too.
They didn't have answers. They had responsibilities and good intentions. That combination is more than most people think.
Please carry your struggles with a touch of dignity. Venting doesn't always help. People treat you differently when they know too much information about you.
Performative people care about perception and their reputation. Authentic people care about TRUTH. And the truth don't change because you don't like it.
One thing about life, it will humble everyone. The liar, the lover, the empath, the victim, the self righteous healer. No one escapes their own energy. It just takes time for truth to circle back.
I have a deep appreciation for people who never misuse the access they have to others. People who understand that closeness does not give them permission to cross boundaries. They know there is always a line that must be respected, even when familiarity makes it easy to ignore.
