@simthedog@Kuuhaku3993 Yup. My boyfriend is also autistic. Despite a TON of social struggles, he’s tried super hard and, since he always dressed well and was liked from afar, he’s now thriving in our local social scene. Fucking hate these ppl that love to generalize
@Kuuhaku3993 My boyfriend is an autistic gay trans male furry, yet also exceedingly intelligent. He used his intelligence to become cool and likable, was forced into a queer/autistic space for friends early on, found out they’re insufferable, and moved on to slowly befriending quality normies
@Kuuhaku3993@Alcoholic__fox Frankly, you’re severely online, a communist, and in otaku spaces… Color me surprised, we are just too fundamentally different (though I find the severely online fascinating), so I’ll agree to disagree. Glad you found happiness in hell
@Kuuhaku3993 People are not “gonna hate you, no matter how competent you are” unless you’re annoying or a bad person. In fact, the most unlikable people I know are often still beloved and socially competent. You’re holding yourself back
@Alcoholic__fox@Kuuhaku3993 There’s just SO MUCH lack of input from outside, local sources. I think these groups are highly beneficial for short amounts of time, but those that stay in queer/neurodivergent spaces while purposely dismissing “normies” are always a little misled in how they view the world.
@Alcoholic__fox@Kuuhaku3993 You’re correct, in times of loneliness, these sorts of friend groups can not only save but make lives. But I’ve observed these situations from the outside, honestly. It’s almost always an echo chamber to some degree, no matter what the people in it do or don’t believe. ->
@Ch1canerous@Kuuhaku3993 Not being able to talk to ppl with different interests will always be a skill issue. Some of my best friends are totally different from me. I am friends with severe gay furry autists and complete and utter white college frat bro normies. I’m not autistic myself though
@Alcoholic__fox@Kuuhaku3993 Only befriending the mentally ill leads to echo chamber shenanigans. Fine thing if you’re okay with letting yourself become somewhat of a joke to the rest of the world; this is just what incels did.
@swagnoog@user0000O0 You can increase your chances with normies if you diversify interests, look passable in a normal sense, drink/smoke weed, and assume people like you.
@user0000O0 Get rid of your insecurities (learn how to dress, lose weight, start skincare, etc.), learn to socialize (if needed), and always get your duties done as soon as possible in the day. Go get tested by a psychiatrist and take medication if you can't complete said duties.
@timedclassic@MightyAmygdala@cy1nus Do you believe that the IP being Star Wars makes much of a difference? Or is it entirely the fact that it's a movie premiere, which would attract more passionate fans, rather than a normal showing?
