When I assess candidates, I’m not just listening to what they say—I’m evaluating how they think. Here’s what I’m really looking for:
🔹 Product Sense – Do you understand the context, landscape, and nuances of the problem?
🔹 Critical Thinking – Are you asking the right questions before jumping to a solution?
🔹 Internal Awareness – Do you consider business goals, user demographics, and company strategy?
🔹 External Awareness – Are you factoring in competition, market trends, and tech shifts?
Example: "Design a homework app for Meta."
A strong PM doesn’t just answer questions—they clarify problems before solving them. That’s what makes a great hire.
