Wracam do bardziej agresywnego handlu.

Atom, dolar, FED i kontrola mórz zmieniają zasady gry.

@adamboxer1 @profbeckyallen @miss_mcinerney @TeacherTapp I actually love seeing results that show me to be in a minority and challenge my thinking or preconceptions about something. But I guess that's just part of being open to robust data painting a picture that may be contrary to what I had believed to be true. 😉

[Adam Boxer @adamboxer1]

Tonight I would like to pay tribute to @profbeckyallen, @miss_mcinerney and the whole @TeacherTapp team for creating the biggest, most reliable, most interesting and most robust data set on the reality of teachers and schools today.

👏👏👏👏

As we enter January our students will read about age restricted content, where money gets its value, and the right to protest.

Young people need arming with knowledge of the world around them & how it works so they can thrive safely as adults.

Remember to stick a treat in the Christmas tree box when you pack it away. A bottle of something nice, cash for a takeaway etc. Future you will thank you when you've spent the day wrestling it all back up again next Christmas.

[The Literacy Engine @LiteracyEngine]

Before asking students to get reading into their leisure time, we need to get reading back into lesson time.

Make 2026 the year you ditch YouTube and bring reading back to the top of the class.

Check out our Curriculum Cogs to get you started.

@BBCr4today @frankcottrell_b Sorry. Reluctant to criticise others’ reading choices. The great thing is the variety out there. However I’m not sure these would kick you off reading. They all presume a knowledge of other material in the canon of reading.

[El Professor @prof_Ruszala]

This type of thing is well intentioned nonsense & one of the reasons I am so frustrated by the Year of Reading

If I'm a reluctant reader The Odyssey is definitely not going to ignite my passion for books no matter how great the story is. I'm bracing myself for a year of cringing

[BBC Radio 4 Today @BBCr4today]

To celebrate the start of the National Year of Reading, authors @frankcottrell_b and Cressida Cowell have recommended ‘books to ignite a love of reading’.

Frank recommends:
Stories of Your Life and Others - Ted Chiang
The Odyssey - Homer
Black Country - Liz Berry
Careless People - Sarah Wynn Williams

Cressida recommends:
Hamnet - Maggie O'Farrell
1599: A Year in the Life of William Shakespeare - James Shapiro
John and Paul: A Love Story in Songs - Ian Leslie

[Adam Boxer @adamboxer1]

Christmas and New Year are traditionally the time where teachers who are unhappy start thinking about leaving the profession.

I think that's totally fair - nobody should be unhappy in work. But I would say one thing: try a different school first. It can make a huge difference.
