What would it look like to see all ~13,000 proteins inside a single human cell at once?
We share ProtiCelli โ a generative model that makes this possible. Besides benchmarking, we demonstrate utility in many tasks.

6/ This was a fantastic team effort led by @paul39277045 with @K_Kahnert@jn_hansen@wdleineweber Marvin Li, Wanyue Feng, Fredreric Ballllosera Navarro, Ulrika Axelsson and @imweio
3/ We used ProtiCelli to generate Proteome2Cell โ 30.7 million simulated images creating 2,400 "virtual cells" across 12 human cell lines. That's multiplexing at 100x the depth of current experimental methods
2/ ProtiCelli lets us do something that has been experimentally impossible: visualize the spatial organization of nearly the entire proteome within individual cells
And of course: A free link to the paper - I hope you enjoy reading it, and that it inspires you to think of proteins and cells in new ways!

As many of you know, this is a key topic in our research. It was so much fun to write this piece together with @lilley_ks and the next gen superstar scientists in spatial proteomics: Alina Sigaeva, @CharlH_Science, @AnthonyCesnik ๐๐๐
Excited to present a spatial proteome map of primary cilia! Discoveries range from 91 novel cilia proteins to a novel ciliopathy gene. We hope this resource will be valuable to the #ciliopathy community.

SubCell is a #ML model trained on 1.1M cell images from the @ProteinAtlas representing 13,141 genes + 35 subcellular structures. This new preprint by @Prof_Lundberg + team is the first iteration of a virtual cell model based on images ๐งต๐
