@POTUS@SenFeinstein@AlexPadilla4CA
We won the Cold War, Russia took our economic & political advice to a T, & now they're at worst, a fossil fuel competitor practicing their own Monroe Doctrine.
We don't need to risk millions dying to stop that.

@WesternLensman@EllieGAnders Some conservatives have rightly said the money we have spent on foreign wars would be better spent here at home.
That is what DSA candidates are trying to do.
@WesternLensman@EllieGAnders We have a tremendous amount of socialism of the very wealthy: business subsidies, tax breaks, bloated defense contracts, privatization of gov’t services, and foreign policy that puts their profits ahead of our safety.
@WesternLensman@EllieGAnders Carville’s business wing of the Democratic Party only “radicalized” young people by not fighting for a living wage or putting bumpers on the rough edges of our capitalist system, such as how to accommodate middle & working class people with jobs who can’t afford daycare.
@WesternLensman Carville is from the corporate wing of the Democratic Party that puts Wall Street donors ahead of mere voters.
Republicans at least don’t hide their allegiance to the wealthy.
We need at least one party that helps the rest of us.
@gmitch9@EdKrassen They are also detaining citizens, people here legally, and illegal immigrants who were SHOWING UP FOR THEIR IMMIGRATION HEARINGS.
It’s political theater for those who are afraid of other races and miss the days of unprosecuted lynch mobs.
@AndreWillingha2@Acyn America is still a religious country BECAUSE there is no state religion.
In countries that had or have a state religion, there was a political & financial incentive for fake believers to show up to church, snicker at the devout, & this weaken the church until no one showed up
What supporters of the Ukraine proxy war with Russia either don’t get or lie about is that the world is in greater danger if RUSSIA is LOSING.
Russia has nukes.
If they feel they are about to lose beyond repair, they may be tempted to escalate to a nuclear exchange.
In the Cold War, policymakers seemed to take Mutually Assured Destruction seriously and tried to stay a good distance away from any action that might trigger a nuclear war.
Now, the US and our NATO allies seem intent on playing a game of nuclear chicken with Russia.
@LuNiReBeLX@KyleKulinski What’s kind about giving money to already wealthy beyond human comprehension?
Kind would be Elon buying everybody else on Earth a coffee (and then getting out of politics).
@Acyn We got a good-sized chunk of our country BECAUSE Haitian slaves overthrew their French masters in the first successful slave revolt, leading the French government to decide it would be too hard to hold onto their North American territory.
So they sold us the Louisiana Purchase.
