@JoanDrobnis It’s in state DOE policy that there is no language requirement for graduation. It happened before I started teaching. I was told they did it because so many rural counties could find or keep WL teachers.

I teach at a fairly large school. About 1,150 students give or take. After 12 years here, next year will be the first time that I’ll be the only world language teacher in the building.
