These guys have clearly convinced themselves what they’re doing is important beyond human comprehension but are utterly incapable of communicating what it is. In another era we’d call it a pyramid scheme or just idolatry.
I remember experiencing a very unique kind of pain and hurt seeing Dravid getting bowled repeatedly on the 2011-12 tour. The newspaper headlines kept saying that the wall is broken. Kohli getting out the same way every innings in this series is a throwback to that same feeling.
@Fancricket12@shaanwaseem2 Most people overestimate captaincy skills. Recall Richie Benaud’s wise quip: captaincy is 90% luck and 10% skill but don’t try it without the 10%!
@CricketBaaziga1@APTalksCricket He did bowl well on the morning of the fourth day at Vizag. He got Pope and Root with balls pitching outside off. He rarely attacks that line and he would have gotten so many more wickets in his career if he would have been more versatile with his line.
@SatwikHegde5@Fancricket12 This might sound crazy but they might select Dube as the second seamer in the team. The main reason is that he can be an X factor as a batter against England’s spinners. He’s been having a good Ranji season. The second seamer has been redundant so far anyway
@CapXSid Expecting Dube to be called up for remaining tests. He can attack the England spinners and deliver some useful overs. In place of the second seamer in the team.
@BackstreetCric8@Fancricket12 Pujara used to be so light on his feet in the first phase of his career. He regressed into a sluggish, negative player of spin in the second half of his career.
@afc_N7k@Fancricket12 Earlier, individual batters did that i.e. Sehwag and Gilchrist. Pant and Head more recently. Little wonder that that they would ever so often decide the fate of a match. Now a team as a whole is doing it… fun times!
@afc_N7k@Fancricket12 I would say positive variance. Obviously the reverse sweep is a low percentage shot but he’s increased his base rate of success of the shot with a lot of practice. However, he doesn’t have 100% control and the upside variance worked for him in this innings.
@afc_N7k@Fancricket12 In fact, bazbal is about 4-5 batters practicing and employing high variance play. If even one of them succeeds bigly then it can be a match winning innings. Of course, some days all of them will flop. The team management has accepted that.
